Why not destroy the enemy?
If they stole my sandwich, destroying them would be a bit overkill. It depends on what they did and why. I think eradicating all members of Isis, in my opinion would be justified for example.

Why not destroy the enemy?
I guess they are very similar.
But anyone can show kindness to someone who returns or deserves it. It seems to be more of a challenge when it is someone who is undeserving or is against you.
To show love to everyone including a person who is harming you seems very high and admirable
My opinion would be after.
I am convinced the time Jehovah has allowed Satan and wickedness to exist has demonstrated beyond all reasonable doubt that Satan is a monstrous liar when he claimed man could govern his affairs apart from God. (Jeremiah 10:23) Meanwhile, God has empowered his Son to destroy Satan and those who choose to follow him. I believe God also has patiently allowed time for this good news to be spread throughout the earth, so people can learn the truth and be saved. (2 Peter 3:9) This relatively short time in history has thus allowed the issue of who is rightful Sovereign to be settled for all eternity, allowed time for God to provide the legal means to save mankind from sin and death, while providing answers to all of Satan's scurrilous slanders before he is destroyed forever. In short, I believe Jehovah wins, Satan loses. (Matthew 25:41)Are you telling us that Satan's will is more successful than God's will?

Wait a short while. (2 Peter 3:9, 10)And cannot do what it stated.
Neither does any human, IMO. (Jeremiah 10:23)will? It sounds the Christians rely on the prophecy instead of the realistic solving problem. In the other word, Christianity has no idea how to deal with the recent human problems.
I think life situations give us an opportunity to choose to either just look out for ourselves (instinct ) or to suffer (either a little or a lot ) in order to achieve the best for someone else. That is real love! That is what God is looking for. That is realistic! That is true Christianity! That is what Jesus did on the cross! Love is worth losing your life for! (I'm talking about action love for fellow humans)A teaching that doesn't work in reality. It would be great if everyone respected and was nice to everyone else but humans just aren't wired that way. Humans seem to be wired to thrive on conflict. Expecting humans to put the concern for themselves and their loved ones after someone who would hurt them goes against our basic instincts. Makes as much sense as expecting a wolf to give up meat, become a vegan, and play nice with sheep. I believe one should protect themselves and those they care about first and worry about forgiveness if and when they feel like it later. One problem I have with religion and why I'm atheist is because many of them have completely unrealistic expectations. If we were created, our creator gave us our emotions and instincts for a reason, all of them, even the ones that give us problems. Hence, denying certain emotions and instincts is the same as saying your creator screwed up and you know better how things should be.
Yeah ... if they were stealing because they are sociopaths ... need to stop them. If they stole because they are hungry, got laid off, etc ... just give them the stupid sandwich. If you are BOTH poor, offer halvsies and then you both get something. If they stole my sandwich, destroying them would be a bit overkill. It depends on what they did and why. I think eradicating all members of Isis, in my opinion would be justified for example.
It helps if you only read the parts where Jesus is forgiving and never read the parts where he insults, degrades, and chastises (with words AND sometimes a whip!) people who were just asking a question...A teaching that doesn't work in reality. It would be great if everyone respected and was nice to everyone else but humans just aren't wired that way. Humans seem to be wired to thrive on conflict.
God should've invented the internet in the first century. Then, the word could spread much faster than relying on people who had to walk or ride donkeys.Meanwhile, God has empowered his Son to destroy Satan and those who choose to follow him. I believe God also has patiently allowed time for this good news to be spread throughout the earth, so people can learn the truth and be saved. (2 Peter 3:9)
A couple minutes' thought and willingness to pool resources would fix a LOT of problems in a day or two.Neither does any human, IMO. (Jeremiah 10:23)
We don't get refunds 3 days later like Jesus did. It's a beautiful concept, I think. I don't understand why it's not more attractive to others.

It's a beautiful concept, I think. I don't understand why it's not more attractive to others. I understand that the image of Christianity has been destroyed. But if you could forget everything you knew about christianity and just start reading what Jesus Himself said (like in Matthew); It's beautiful!
