MAGA Judge Blocks Overtime Pay for 4 Million Salaried Employees

Salaried managers get taken advantage of too. One I worked close with, he was the top manager in the field but his salaried pay as much as he worked came out to less than minimum wage.
We need less exploitation, not more and continuing what's going on.
Then he needed to get a different job. I bet that is what he agreed to when he took the job. Take control of your life and don’t let them take advantage of you.

A federal judge in Texas has blocked a new rule from the Biden administration that would have expanded access to overtime pay to millions more salaried workers across the U.S.

There are no MAGA judges, just federal judges. It says Obama tried to do the same thing and was ruled against by a federal judge. Change the laws if you want this to change.

what planet do you live on? Social workers, therapists, teachers, nurses are all salaried positions and do not make good money by anyone's standard

The only one of those I know about is my SO who (now retired) was an RN. She worked defined shifts and was not expected to put in extra hours for no pay.

Nurses...Pandemic..I don't care what a healthcare worker makes. Pay-backs are in order.
My wife's knows several nurses that went travel nursing during the pandemic.
One said she made over $135k in 3.5 months working six days per week, 12 hours per day. Being paid around $150 per hour.

MAGA judge?
Overtime for salaried employees?

The employers don't have to pay overtime if their salary is more than $35,568 per year. (This was set by the Trump administration in 2019.) The new rule that the judge blocked would raise that threshold to $43,888 a year and to $58,656 next year. With the Federal judge blocking the rule, the threshold will remain at $35,568 per year.

As I understand your post, the judge ruled in favor of the employees. I am open to correction.

No, the judge did not side with the employees. The judge sided with the employers.
The judge turned down the overtime. That favored the employers. The judge blocked raising the threshold. According to your post a higher threshold favors the employer.

Did you mean to say that the higher threshold favors the employee? You said "employer."

*doh* I corrected my post --changed "The employers don't have to pay overtime if their salary is less than $35,568 per year." to "The employers don't have to pay overtime if their salary is more than $35,568 per year." Sorry for the confusion.

Republicans: "We are the party of the working class, and we're sick of these wealthy elites taking advantage of good, hard-working, blue-collar Americans."
Biden: "Cool. Here's a bit of legislation that will significantly benefit working-class and blue-collar Americans at the cost of wealthy elites."
Republicans: "SCREEEEEEEEEEE!"

Tale as old as time.
