Most humans have been brought up to believe they are "spiritual beings". A subtle but important difference.
That belief could be entirely wrong.

Cyrillic is a "type of alphabet". So is Arabic and Roman and Greek.
An alphabet is just a set of symbols used to represent sounds.

Many humans do use alphabet. Some humans are sick or not developed so much, so they do not.
But no bear, wolf, nor spider is using alphabet.

Some humans are humans, but do not use alphabet (they are e.g. babies).

CONCLUSION:

Animals know the Lord, unlike the atheists. Top primates are religious, and praying, and having alphabet.
But they are not human, because they have mortal soul.

Animals are children of God just like people. We have more capabilities , however that does not make animals less important in God's eyes. I think the real problem is an EGO problem on many people's side.

Years and years ago, my dad had a squirrel problem. A squirrel kept getting in the attic. My dad tried traps ,bait, poison and yet that squirrel kept running free. Finally, my dad had enough. He got a hunting party together with all his friends. When the hunting crew showed up, the squirrel was nowhere to be found. As soon as the party broke up, the squirrel returned.

My dad tried everything nuts, peanut butter, candy, bread, rolls, and even ice cream. That squirrel knew when to show up and when to be gone. Pop finally gave up. He said that squirrel was smarter than he was. Pop and the squirrel lived a long live, however, now, they have both passed.

I would challenge anyone who thinks God wasn't a bit proud of that squirrel for being so smart.

I think those that deem animals as less are not really looking beyond their own Egos. Sure, animals have fewer capabilities, however they are, in their own right, Magnificent!!

That's what I see. It's very clear!!

Because their parents were indoctrinated as children as well. Long held myths and superstitions don't have to be true you know.
Also worth remembering that formalised religions are a relatively new addition to human society.
