If you want to get rid of something then

get rid of the fuuuuu stupid glasses thing! :cover: I cant believe they keep trying that?! Now?! Seriously?! :cover:

But it's tradition! :p 'Sides, if he does other things like change his body-posture, mannerisms, and his voice a bit, the glasses can add an effective distraction so nobody looks twice and recognizes him.

I don't even know what you're talking about with the curls. I thought he looked pretty much like the Bronze Age Superman (the Reeves movies were made during the Bronze Age of comics).

Though I did just watch one of the old cartoons from the 40s, and, well... he didn't have curly hair then.

So... Tempted... To... Read... Spoilers...

I'm seeing WWZ instead today with a friend that's a girl of mine (not GF though, she has a BF :D), but soon I'll see man of steel and read your spoilers :D

Now, as to why they decided to make Clark's long time friend Jimmy Olsen into Jenny Olsen... I have no idea. (Not really a spoiler; this is news that got out before the movie was released, and she ultimately has nothing to do with the plot, only making a very small token appearance near the end.)
I assume it's to do better on the Bechdel test, essentially. To boost the lady/dude ratio a bit.

She'll probably have a slightly larger role in the sequel.

And there's this.

It's okay. We won't reveal that Superman is actually a woman.

What if the boat explosion at the beginning was actually caused by aquaman? :O

Also, this movie was great, but Zod was definitely not a good enemy to start out with. But, I hope they do Brainiac as the enemy in the sequel, I doubt Lex Luther is going to be an enemy at all in this series unless he has his suit and kryptonite (which I really hope kryptonite is not used in this series)

Also, it doesn't make sense that he was flying through buildings and stuff like that but had a problem with snapping a guy's neck...

The Lost One
Saw it yesterday.

The actions and special effects were spectacular, but I am not completely sold on this new film. It does seem to be another batman movie than superman.

Hardly :D Batman isn't even as close to being as imperfect as Man of Steel :D

Understandable.

BTW, Lex Luthor is a completely different beast these days. He's a Machiavellian businessman with a view to control the world with teh monies; he even got elected president once. (Figure that out.)

This is basically all speculation about the sequel and Lex, but I'll put it in spoilers anyway:

The Lex Corp building had a brief cameo shot in Man of Steel. There are multiple sources online stating that Snyder already has a specific actor in mind for Luthor, and stated who it was. Snyder himself stated they haven't gone over the details yet.

I really don't see how they could not have Luthor in movie 2. This movie was mostly about action, and had to fit a lot of origin stuff and action stuff into a fairly rushed movie. The next one can be a more complex, slowed down, emotional story with Luthor as the villain.

If they do it right, it would be more along the lines of what Dark Knight was in the Batman trilogy. That was the best one, despite the fact that the Joker couldn't really fight Batman straight on. It was all tricks, mind games, a battle of wits, and testing of moral lines.

If Luthor was the villain in movie 2, it would hopefully be similarly well-written and complex, with shades of moral uncertainty, because Luthor can position himself as the hero and Superman as the threat, like he often tries to do.

Generally, the only way Luthor fights Superman personally is with Kryptonite or a flying power suit that allows him to trade hits with him. The first is potentially lazy writing unless they somehow make it particularly interesting, and the second is corny in most mediums. If they have Lex, then in addition to maybe one or both of those options, there will probably be one or more sub-villains that Lex hires or convinces to fight Superman that are strong enough to fight him and give the audience action scenes. Or a machine of some sort. Lex isn't the muscle, he's the guy that organizes the muscle.

True, but I think it was too rushed. Now that Superman learned that it is sometimes necessary to kill (at the end of the first one he killed Zod), Luthor must have no chance, unless like you said, he doesn't fight him straight on.

It'd be interesting if they went with the flow of The Dark Knight, but if Superman took out Zod and his gang, there's going to be little to no struggle with Lex Luthor. Then I'm guessing the last villain of the Man of Steel would be Darkseid because he is the muscle.

But I kind of hope Brainiac will be in this series, like I said before, he is a much worthy villain and never has he been used in a live-action film before.

Lex Luthor is his arch villain, there's always going to be a struggle for Superman when he's around. Darkseid is good if they do the Justice League movie as MoS3 because he's so powerful and has an army, whereas Lex works perfectly for MoS2. I think they might not go the Braniac route because that will be Superman fighting off more aliens, essentially. I think they'll make the villain domestic for MoS2.

Superman can kill, but he's the big blue boy scout. Zod at the end openly said that his sole purpose now was to destroy humanity, and Superman had no choice but to break him. He turned himself into a one dimensional pure evil villain so Superman put that to rest.

Lex is different. In various storylines, he has been elected president, been involved in evil organizations, and has been sort of a villainous Bruce Wayne corporate tech billionaire. He has even played the role of an anti-hero and saved Superman and the world from Darkseid at the end of Justice League Unlimited. If they use Lex, he's not going to be positioned as the one dimensional villain for Superman to kill. He'll be the guy that people think is a magnanimous businessman, that Superman learns is bad but has no proof for, that he has to play mind games with, or something along those lines. He might convince the world that Superman is a threat, claiming that it's all his fault those Kryptonians showed up and killed so many people to begin with (because they wouldn't have come if he wasn't there), and position himself as the hero in people's eyes. And I think there will have to be sub-villains that work as Lex's muscle, or act as an independent threat.

It was just rushed. Way rushed. The @@@@ing I mean.

The villains were cool because of the action.

I DEFINETELY want a braniac eventually, but I noticed he wasnt in Krypton, originally he was, but I didnt see him, so would they ever use him? Then again, probably with a different story.

Darkseid for justive league? Yeah right! Because they are ding that soon! :p

Sure , I d love it to be so, but... It aint happening :(

To the very least the would have to make a movie for another Batman and a Wonderwoman first, and lets face it, it is going to feel farfetched if not also one of Flash and Aquaman.

Very, very hard to happen.

Hmm, I never knew that honestly. I haven't gotten much background on Superman than the past movies actually, that's why I assumed Zod was his main enemy to be honest, and I didn't really think much of Lex Luther whenever he was in movies.

But, I think this is how it should go as for sequels:

Man of Steel = What we got obviously, Zod is in relation to the beginnings of Superman, the one who is of the same origin and is an equal compared to Superman. (such as Ra's al Ghul for batman)
Man of Steel 2 = Lex Luthor (because, since he is his arch nemesis, it'd make a lot more sense, and Joker was Batman's arch nemesis and was used in the second one)
Man of Steel 3 = I don't know who would be the muscle, but the one Superman enemy that I always loved was Brainiac, mainly because he was the only one, besides Zod, that I knew.

THEN Justice League.

It was just rushed. Way rushed. The @@@@ing I mean.

Definitely agree, it was way too rushed, that's exactly what I thought at first. But then I had second thoughts - "well I guess this guy is a very powerful hero, of course it's going to be extreme" and then I started to realize, well wait a second, this is the first time in film history that Superman actually got a chance to show himself and release the beast. Unlike in Superman returns... he lifted an island... lol...

There was a Wonderwoman live action film? Must not have done good in the ratings, I've not heard of it.

I'm just hoping they do a Flash movie soon, I REALLY love the Flash, a little more than I love Batman, and THAT'S extreme :D

But I don't think they should make another movie for Batman, Batman had began, then he had fallen, and then he had risen again! It's complete. Here's how I see it:

Remember the part where Zod and Superman were fighting in space and they hit the satellite or whatever, and did you notice it had a Wayne Tech logo on it?

Also, excuse my ignorance, but I never really got into Aquaman, I know pretty much nothing about him. I do own a comic that is sealed up and locked away for antique, but other than that I have no material about him.

But, I'm pretty sure Aquaman does little crime-fighting on land, so I'm pretty sure that Aquaman would have a small part in a Justice League movie.

Also, I think they should make another series of Batman before making a Justice League movie. The realism in the Dark Knight is NOT going to fit in with it at all. The Justice League is 90% aliens and sci-fi.
