Man of Steel: Superman is Back!

Me Myself

Back to my username
Hmm, I never knew that honestly. I haven't gotten much background on Superman than the past movies actually, that's why I assumed Zod was his main enemy to be honest, and I didn't really think much of Lex Luther whenever he was in movies.

But, I think this is how it should go as for sequels:

Man of Steel = What we got obviously, Zod is in relation to the beginnings of Superman, the one who is of the same origin and is an equal compared to Superman. (such as Ra's al Ghul for batman)
Man of Steel 2 = Lex Luthor (because, since he is his arch nemesis, it'd make a lot more sense, and Joker was Batman's arch nemesis and was used in the second one)
Man of Steel 3 = I don't know who would be the muscle, but the one Superman enemy that I always loved was Brainiac, mainly because he was the only one, besides Zod, that I knew.

THEN Justice League.

Definitely agree, it was way too rushed, that's exactly what I thought at first. But then I had second thoughts - "well I guess this guy is a very powerful hero, of course it's going to be extreme" and then I started to realize, well wait a second, this is the first time in film history that Superman actually got a chance to show himself and release the beast. Unlike in Superman returns... he lifted an island... lol...

There was a Wonderwoman live action film? Must not have done good in the ratings, I've not heard of it.

I'm just hoping they do a Flash movie soon, I REALLY love the Flash, a little more than I love Batman, and THAT'S extreme :D

But I don't think they should make another movie for Batman, Batman had began, then he had fallen, and then he had risen again! It's complete. Here's how I see it:

Remember the part where Zod and Superman were fighting in space and they hit the satellite or whatever, and did you notice it had a Wayne Tech logo on it?

That can be simply a hummm how was it called ienglish? I think it was called a nod?

Like, just something for the fans to have fun saying "oh look! Cool!" . Like e. "robin" thing in batman.

No, they havent made a life action wonderwoman that I know. Batman was awesome, but they wont mix that Batman wi Superman. One of the reasons of course that he is already retired.

I love the Flash almost as much as Batman, it would be very hard to make a good and cool Flash film though. Least That's what I think. Please someone show me wrong! :cover:

I bet they can pull it off, if Nolan is involved with its creation.

Actually, I hope Aquaman is something done like The Green Lantern. It seems like the kind of Superhero film in which a CGI adventure would be more fitting than the darkness.

Because in the other movies he's still just a campy villain.

If you want an idea of what he's been up to more recently, go watch the three-part pilot of the 90s Superman animated series, "Last Son of Krypton."

Also, excuse my ignorance, but I never really got into Aquaman, I know pretty much nothing about him. I do own a comic that is sealed up and locked away for antique, but other than that I have no material about him.

But, I'm pretty sure Aquaman does little crime-fighting on land, so I'm pretty sure that Aquaman would have a small part in a Justice League movie.

Also, I think they should make another series of Batman before making a Justice League movie. The realism in the Dark Knight is NOT going to fit in with it at all. The Justice League is 90% aliens and sci-fi.

That's already the plan; to have a different Batman for the Justice League film.

FTR, the new Aquaman series for New 52 is AWESOME!

Darkseid for justive league? Yeah right! Because they are ding that soon! :p

Sure , I d love it to be so, but... It aint happening :(
The third MoS movie may be Justice League. Goyer is already signed on to write it. They hired a person to write a Justice League screenplay last year but it was rejected. MoS2 is already green-lit to happen but the third part is still up in the air, I guess it depends on how the second one does and how good the screenplay is.

Warner Bros. has been trying to make Justice League happen for a while because there's potentially a billion dollars in profit there. Nolan prefers stand-alone series of Batman and Superman. It was released that if they do a Justice League film, it'll most likely be a new Batman, not Bale. In MoS they had a scene with a Wayne Enterprise satellite in it. They also had a reference to the Justice League and Teen Titans member, Cyborg. Plus LexCorp tower.

Personally, I'd rather have no Justice League movie and just a MoS trilogy instead.

Why not a trilogy for MoS and THEN Justice League so Superman can be exercised one more time before going in with the big dogs?

My opinion is that superhero movies are going to go the way of westerns.

They made a zillion western movies during a certain period until people just got so overloaded with them, and then they fell into disfavor and are only made once in a while.

In the last decade, they have made an insane number of superhero movies. I think people are going to get sick of them. I'm already sick of them except for a few, because it's just an overload. And it's mostly Marvel doing it.

Since the year 2000, DC made:
3 Batman movies
2 Superman movies
1 Green Lantern movie
1 Catwoman movie
1 Watchmen movie
plus smaller ones

DC's planning two more Superman/Justice League films

Since the year 2000, Marvel made:
5 X-Men movies, including Wolverine's spinoff
4 Spiderman movies
3 Iron Man movies
2 Fantastic Four movies
2 Hulk movies
1 Thor movie
1 Daredevil movie
1 Captain America movie
1 Avengers movie
plus smaller ones

Now Marvel's planning to make three more Spiderman movies (Amazing Spiderman 2, 3, and 4), another Wolverine, another X-men, two more Avengers, Thor 2, Captain America 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man (really, Ant-Man?), another Fantastic Four reboot

I think the public is going to get sick of this. If I was working at Warner Bros., I'd want to get any big projects out of the way before the bubble bursts.

Damn, that sucks.

Let's hope after all these are made, they cut down for a while or spread it out for a while.

Another thing, besides for killing thousands of people with falling buildings and exploding gas stations, that I didn't understand was the reactions of the characters. I liked how Superman started flying and was at first excited by it, but I still don't think Lois Lane would simply be taking pictures of that floating thing as if it were some rare bird, it was a floating alien phenomena.

I'm surprised that there's still cops, I'm pretty sure over half of them would quit in fear of something like that ever happening again.

Also, where's the PTSD at... someone's gotta have it from that.

Unless Lois Lane's an alien, there's no reason why she'd be calm and acting as if nothing is happening after just being carried down from the sky by a flying man.

Also, a question

At the end of the film Clark is hired at Daily Planet, and the boss introduces him to Lois as Clark Kent. Didn't she know his last name is Kent? How will she not know he is superman?

She knows, of course. At least, i thought that was pretty obvious from their reactions.

I also think the kind of people involved in the making of this film wouldn't allow for something as blatantly stupid as that.

I thought it was obviously clear. I really do not understand how you came under the assumption that Lois would not know who Clark Kent is. In most of the comic books she was depicted as a wife for crying out loud.

That's alright. :D

Actually, my friend who was with me at the movie, while paying full attention, started bursting out laughing at that scene. I suspected that he thought she didn't recognize him, but i hoped that i'd be wrong. After the movie, i asked, and he hit me with it: "I was of course laughing at the ridiculousness of her not recognizing him."

What followed was not too pretty. :D

Iunno, I haven't gotten much background on Superman other than the old movies. Plus, I wasn't fully paying attention in this movie, way too much to grasp at once. I hardly remembered who Zod was, besides thinking he was the main villain, so all that I really knew about the film was his planet being destroyed, so I had a LOT to pay attention to in this movie to get it, then my brain was like screw it, stop trying to figure it out and focus on the action, I'm already lost lol

The film differed in many ways from the comics and considering my brother's massive collection of them from the 70's and onward I know quite a bit.

I mean no offense but I dislike the complaints of a film that come from a lazy audience. I had no issue understanding it and it did not come from my previous knowledge as many things were changed. People just do not seem to enjoy deep films and this is mainly purported from the laziness in cinema now a days that current youth just has no concept of a GOOD film

As an aside, a whole thread full of spoiler tags replying to spoiler tags makes me giggle for some reason.

Box office report: 'Man of Steel' scores super $125.1 million | Inside Movies | EW.com

That's right people we finnaly have a good and accurate Superman film. No longer has the atrocity of Christopher Reeves damaged this film with his poor acting and degenerating story line.

I as have many others finally witnessed a Superman story that is faithful to the franchise. Although I do make an exception for the end, May a certain dead fictional character rest in peace :run:.

I guess it's a matter of personal preference; personally, I thought that christopher reeves was a really good choice
as clark kent, the actor has to play the role of a polite, non-confrontational, studious, almost clumsy, bumbling kind of guy...a "gentle giant".....I think christopher reeves did that pretty well
he also had an impressive physique, tall with a good natural frame, not too muscular, I think too muscular seems quite unnatural, and also makes the actor look a little harsh and superman is a "nice guy"
I haven't seen man of steel, but I did watch superman returns, and I don't remember anything about it, it didn't make an impression

all about personal preference...
