That certainly may occur to a limited degree, but probably easier said than done. Monetary transactions are increasingly becoming more digital on a global scale.

It's very easy indeed. I already trade with people using other commodities. Regularly. Among friends and colleagues, not in shops and stores.

God placed a mark on the hand and forehead of the Jews, which was supposed to be a reminder of the day they left Egypt.
In revelation, the same mark on the hand and forehead is placed on all people, a mark without which they can neither buy nor sell.
About the meaning of the mark and what it represents, only one idea comes to mind that it could be!
Time, a calendar composed of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years.
By circularly repeating the calendar, it is easier to remember the day when the Jews left Egypt.
And in the second case, without time/calendar trade will not exist. The zodiac sign is symbolically on the forehead of every person, and time is on the hand.
That same calendar consisting of 12 months is like an invisible temple in which all people live.
The admonition in revelation is to get out of the time/calendar because it will collapse.
Tear down this temple and I will set up a new one in three days. Jesus spoke of that time/calendar as a temple for prayer, not commerce.
