Nobody is saying they are adults. Why you think that only adults have rights, is beyond me.They are not adults. One would have to be blind to see they do not have a fair number of rights that adults have.

Installing fear and suspicion of what? What are you talking about?Installing fear and suspicion when there is no reason to be that way for the vast majority of people.
Kind of reminds of that South Park episode where the parents were accused of child abuse.
Deep state?Bravo!
Well stated!
It's just a shame the deep state is so fixated on destroying families and stripping their rights to raise their own children as they see fit.
Yep, as so many of the Pubs believe that educators should not educate in any kind of broad sense.School nurse? What?
So instead of arming kids with knowledge about their own bodies, so they can be prepared and be aware of the signs of someone who is trying to (or is) abuse them, you'd rather teach them none of that, and just hope they go to the school nurse when they're being abused, even though nobody has taught them about what abuse looks like? Teaching little Jane and John the names of their body parts is too much for them? Come on.
This is why there are boards of education besides the fact that a parent can always call a teacher to get an explanation. We pay the taxes that run these schools and pay the teachers. We have a right to know what they're teaching and push back when they're teaching minors inappropriate things on our dime, especially when it's nothing more than thinly veiled political activism. Children do not belong to the government. They belong to their families.
"In the you-can’t-make-up-this-stuff department, here’s what the Republican Party of Texas wrote into its 2012 platform as part of the section on education:Yep, as so many of the Pubs believe that educators should not educate in any kind of broad sense.
Plain and simple. It's a school nurses job and the job of the parents. That's the way it was for decades and should for decades more.
Yes. The deep state thinks it knows how to raise other people's children better than their own parents can.Deep state?
I know enough as a past fundie that they are being more vilified than they ought to be.Are you sure you're not a closet fundie?
Yes. The deep state thinks it knows how to raise other people's children better than their own parents can.
And who is the deep state? Where can I read this in their mission statement?Yes. The deep state thinks it knows how to raise other people's children better than their own parents can.
Try looking up the political affiliation of various school boards with the same or similar agendas for your answer. And who is the deep state? Where can I read this in their mission statement?
That's the kind of vague answer I was expecting.Try looking up the political affiliation of various school boards with the same or similar agendas for your answer.
The opposition and especially the kind of opposition to having trans and gay issues on the curriculum is the best argument that they need to be there. When it comes to the parents who freak out at the idea that trans people exist or that some kids in their child's class have two dads, that's probably a fair assessment.
Not vague for me. Maybe try looking up deep state to broaden your horizons. That's the kind of vague answer I was expecting.
The "deep state" is a conspiracy theory and has no merit. There is no "deep state".Not vague for me. Maybe try looking up deep state to broaden your horizons.
Depends how you define it.The "deep state" is a conspiracy theory and has no merit. There is no "deep state".
That's not what the term refers to.Depends how you define it.
I think of the "deep state" as those people in government who are tasked with executing the laws Congress (or the President through Executive Order) makes but find creative ways to not do it as intended.
Example: Trump ordered troops to be drawn from Germany. The generals said "Yes, Sir" and did nothing. Biden revoked the order 9 month later during which not one soldier left Germany.
That is the deep state and it has power.
"Deep state" is just a modernized rebranding of the zany illuminati/freemasons/jews trope. The "deep state" is a conspiracy theory and has no merit. There is no "deep state".
I disagree. Wanna know why?The "deep state" is a conspiracy theory and has no merit. There is no "deep state".
