Missouri Bill Would Put Teachers On Sex Offender Registry For Affirming Trans Kids' Identities

Well, don't just single them out. Factions of every other political persuasion likewise have paid entertainers to parrot back to them their particular beliefs and trash all others.

I just shake my head when self-identified leftists find fault with their conservative counterparts for doing that which the leftists do. Everyone just needs to be honest; everyone needs entertainment from time to time. Their fooling themselves who believe that they listen to their favorite political entertainers to get educated.
Opposing the orange clown does not make one a "leftist". Unless when you say "leftist" you mean reasonable rational people.

Sorry but emporer Trump is not wearing any clothes in my view. One can falsely equivocate all they want, we can only hope that the public is well informed enough to see through it come election time.
Again, I won't call one out without calling out the others; they are all running naked through the halls of government, and far afield of what they ought to be doing with the authority they're loaned. That said, I don't think a sensible candidate could be elected right now; he or she would be so outside the extremes with which Americans today identify, he or she would seem as much akin to the people as would a Martian.

I hate saying that.

I'm using terms not my own here, so don't invest too much in what I might call a leftist or a conservative. Thankfully, I've been independent of the insanity of political parties and charting for a long time now. I don't know what to call any of them, honestly. I'll get corrected by someone at every turn. All I know is that all label-bearers think their faction is full to the gills with "reasonable, rational" people, when reality is that they're just as blind to the truth and civically psychotic as those they love to hate.

Give me an island with other independent thinkers and the partyites and labelites can do whatever they want with the country.

More Republican fascism on display. And they have the temerity of saying the Democrats are weaponizing government!

House bill 2885 states that if any teacher or counselor "provides support, regardless of whether the support is material, information or other resources," to a trans youth who is transitioning could face four years in prison, a $10,000 fine, and be listed as a sex offender in that state.

The bill defines transitioning as when an individual uses names, pronouns, or even gender expression, including clothes and hair styles, that do not match their gender assigned at birth. Displaying pride flags in a classroom or introducing any book with LGBTQ-related material would also be considered felony offenses under the bill.

The bill's sponsor, Rep. Jamie Gragg (R-Christian County), said the motivation behind the legislation was to support parents "who are frustrated with things that kids are being taught in school."

Perhaps I missed it, but how do they justify classifying this as a sex offense when it doesn't fall within the state's definition of sexual offense?

I am more of an independent than most. I had been a Republican for many many years, but they have been getting more and more off track. I did not dump the party until they went with Trump. At that point I knew that there was an incurable problem with them. Are the Democrats perfect? No, but right now they are far better than the Republicans. I would like to vote Republican again some day, but I do not see that in my future currently.

Partly independent is better than no independence. Make it a clean break! :D

In my view Biden is there to protect the interests of the common people, Trump is there to push theocracy of a few on the many so as to dupe far right conservative Christians into voting against the financial well being of the poor and middle class. How you see these two as being identically equivalent is beyond me.

So you think an extreme left exists in significant numbers in the US? I believe your assertion is doubtworthy.

What does US law indicate the president's job is?

After reviewing that, compare that charge and oath to what President Biden is doing.

Then we can talk again.

And you wonder why we try so to keep religion and state separate. Once religion gets its foot in the door we get an explosion of new, religiously motivated regulations and restrictions.
Where will it all end? Left unchecked we could end up with an authoritarian, theocratic state like Iran or Afghanistan.

If you are going to suggest Biden is a criminal I would suggest that compared to Trumps long list of criminal acts he is by far the lesser of two evils.

Is minimising crime by voting against the biggest criminal against your personal values?

Who said anything about criminality? I'm simply inviting a comparison of a sitting president's actions while in office against what the law authorizes him to do—and what he swears he will do when he takes the job.

My personal values have nothing to do with whether or not President Biden is acting in a manner consistent with the charge given to him by the American people. You appear to believe he's doing right by the law (presumably). Well, is he? What does the law say?

Extreme left! LOL!
Today's "radical left" is to the right of the "far right" GOP of just 50 years ago. The whole political system has been dragged to the right.

Can you cite some specific examples? Interest piqued. I can see this in certain areas but it has not occurred to me, or been obvious to me, that the entire system has moved to the right. Though I guess I've never looked to see if it had. Please expound.

Well what do you call a person who acts against the law if not a criminal?

There are probably volumes of law, citing them all here would be impossible and irrelevant. If you are going to suggest Biden has acted against the law comparably to Trump could you please cite the specific laws you are referring to then compare them to Trumps long list of acting against the law for comparison thanks.

Environmental protections, social services, education subsidies, fairness doctrine, OSHA, gender equality regulations, gay rights, Fair Housing act, Glass-Steagall act, Communications acts, and many others were either products of the post war decades or enjoyed support from both sides of the aisle.

But since we went from a Keynesian to a Neoliberal economic model ("Reaganomics") these have either been defunded, repealed, deregulated or otherwise undermined, generally by corporate funded, Right-wing legislation. The Democrats, too, abandoned their mostly working class base for the technical class. Everyone's moved to the right, leaving the interests of the ordinary citizens flapping in the wind.

That depends on who you are and the law we're talking about. If you're elected to office and you don't execute your oath or job (the law), that doesn't necessarily make you a criminal in the sense you seem to be thinking.

Again, I'm asking about Pres. Biden executing the law as an elected official. Answers that pivot to Donald Trump are non sequitur because I haven't asked about him.

I guess I don't see these issues, ideas or agencies as left/right, which makes sense because I am independent of party affiliation or thinking. I look always at the organic laws and assess whether or not we're moving toward them or away from them, regardless whether or not others would say the observed movement is "left" or "right." We're either moving in the right direction or the wrong direction. So it's hard for me to conclude what you have.

So just about any teacher or teaching assistant then. I'd be on the register or in prison sooner or later, given I provide support to students in a school. America is becoming like some dystopian novel.

But what makes a policy or law right or wrong? Whom do they favor, and whom do they injure. That's where the right or left, conservative or progressive, or authoritarian or democratic come in.

If you look at the history of these laws, the debates about them, who undermined them and why, you'll find the the left or progressives proposed and supported them, and the conservative right opposed or undermined them. Almost all the things that enhance the lives, safety or prosperity of the common people were opposed by the conservatives at the time.

So yes, it is usually a party thing, with one party favoring the people, and the other the corporations and rich who exploit them.
