Mitch McConnell freezes for the second time publicly:

This happened to my mother a few times towards the end of her life. It can be a sign of an impending stroke. It looks identical to the TIA's or Trans Ischemic Attacks that she would have. The person that has one is usually totally unaware of the event. Sadly (even though I do not like the man he is not the worst of all Republicans by a long shot) they need to start looking for a replacement for him soon.

That's very sad, I'm sorry to hear it. Same thing for my dad, unfortunately.

When I saw the first one, my first thought was that he was having a stroke. Or maybe a seizure. My second thought was, why aren't these idiots around him getting him some medical attention? Are they blind?

I honestly felt very bad for him that nobody seemed the slightest bit concerned that he was obviously in some sort of distress.

My sympathies for Mitch, even if I hate what he has done as Senate leader. What I found troubling was his aid, standing next to him, just moved in as if everything was dandy. How often is he doing this when there are no cameras around? My guess? Frequently.

RIght? Like they just shuffled him off to the side and sat him back down ago like he was a G.I. Joe figurine or something.
Very strange.

Unfortunately his handlers seem more concerned about his reputation than his health. They are being rather short sighted. And watching CNN right now and McConnell is reassuring his allies that it is nothing. One cannot blame the victim for that sort of attitude. My mother never knew when she had one. Such an event is a very good reason to stop some activities, such as driving, immediately.

What gets me is, I am no spring chicken, and yet McConnell is 14 years older than I am. Why do these people see themselves as so indispensable that they cannot step down and let younger people run the show? My guess is that power is just too intoxicating, AND they have a fairly low opinion of the younger members around them.

Being a full-time politician seems to be such a toxic, draining career path. In my old age, I want to be retired or doing what I love with little pressure in life. I don't want to deal with PR, press coverage, partisan conflicts, controversy, and stress every single day, with no real break. The latter is the position senior citizens like Biden, McConnell, Trump, and Hillary Clinton are in.

There is an old, delicious, English expression, "Beware of an old man (person) in a hurry."

Which begs the question, how many times has this happened before!?
Poor guy.
It is hard to say. In March he had a fall that caused a concussion. Now the fall may have been caused by such an event, or it could have caused damage that made these events more common. Either way, it is time to retire, for his own good. He is not in a position to ruin the country, if he has a serious stroke, I am seriously concerned about his well being:

Many years ago when I rode a motorcycle the saying was "Watch out for old men wearing hats". It was an old saying even then. About 20 years later I met some young kids (young to me anyway) that thought that they invented the phrase:tonguewink: I

Oh, I didn't know he'd been falling down as well. Time to retire probably started quite a while back then.

I cannot stand this man or his politics. But I do feel very sorry for him. He needs to go take care of himself and surround himself with some loving people who actually care about his well-being.
