Modest Dress Styles and Fashion

What are your views on people who live in dense equatorial jungles, whose traditional clothing is no clothing at all?
If some were to become Muslim, but found that their subsistence lifestyle was impossible when modestly dressed,
how would you suggest they address the problem?
I don't know what the problem would be then; is it the jungle or the equatorial or the lack of money and honorable life?
If it's the equatorial part then there are a lot of Muslims who live in equatorial places. And they could cope while wearing modestly like Indonesia, Malaysia is also near the equator, some African countries e.g Somalia, Sudan is also near it. And I posted some photos of the traditional clothes in countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and Sudan. The trick is in the material of the cloth.
If the reason was that they can't afford it, then Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. Do what you are capable of, you won't be asked about what is beyond your capability.

Are they putting scarfs in case there are men in the party? Cuz I dont think it would be very modest to show up like that in a mixed place ;) I think thats even more attractive than showing ones hair lol; cuz scarfs are more colourful and you can always be so much unicoloured that everyone will keep looking at you all the way :D

Yes, why not if it was your engagement party or katb kitab?

No not really, a lot of girls who wear no head scarves wear dresses that reveals a lot of their back, arms and a lot of their chest area. These dresses are very suitable for being modest and if you have a special occasion. And all the female attenders wear night dresses as well, don't worry about this. ;)
If the bride wants a separated party, she is free...this is another possibility.

This one is beautiful; I'd like to have a dress it this if there was a special occasion like this:

I wonder....must guys in Islam be modest too? Should they meet the same standards, or are there adjustments for gender?

Isnt the standard of the robe being vaste and not drawing the women body lines, necessary in the women dress code sister Sahar? Because in all dresses, the body lines and curbes were very clear and showing. Thats what we learnt about the conditions of a women clothing, you may try to ask a scholar, and if its a women scholar that would be better cuz you wont think she is just saying it to make you hide your body from her:)

Yes revoltingest, they do but not as strict as the women code dress; men shouldnt show from the navel to the knees.

For example, a man wearing a short pants over his knees is considered as wearing unIslamic dress.

Fatima, it's up to the woman to preserve her hijab. Here I am posting clothes and dress styles. A woman can buy a dress that is tight on her but another one can buy the same style but while being loose. A woman may wear a full make-up and another one may not. The Islamic code is known and how the woman preserve her hijab is up to her. The clothes I am posting are different styles...whether the model is wearing full make-up, or showing her neck, or if the scarf should be longer...etc is not my issue here.
I am showing what the average Muslim woman can wear in her daily life and in the special occasions.
A woman who wears black from head to toe will find any colored clothes as unsuitable and "attractive", she is free...there are variations. We all know the minimal requirements, how to preserve them is dependent on the woman herself. This is not the topic of my thread.

In the context of wedding dresses, I'd like to post some pictures of the daughter of Abullah Gul, the president of Turkey, on her wedding day...it was a couple of years ago or so...

The last picture is amazing. It's interesting that wives and daughters of the President and Prime Minister of Turkey wear hijab but it faces ban in some places in Turkey.

I'd like to quote part of Fullyveiled Muslimah post because she put it very eloquently (as usual, I miss her and her wise eloquent posts):
...This is what the hijab represents and is to be practiced by both male and female. Men must make sure to cover their own "awrah" or what you may think of as the parts of the body to be covered in public as part of decency. Technically it is from the navel to the knees of men. However according to the sunnah of the Prophet (saw), he is to wear long loose clothing as well. Mens clothing should not be sheer, tight, short or anything like that.

So basically men also have a dress code even though it may not be quite as strict, but it's there. When we are out and about in public, and there is to be coincidental mingling between the sexes, hijab both as a dress code and a code of conduct is to be employed. The dress is a visual reminder to both parties that casual intermingling that can lead to all the things involved with dating, are not permissible...

They wear them in separated parties too..But to be honest there are many wrong things occurs during wedding parties, not only the unislamic dress of the bride!

I think this one is suitable for a mixed party, with editing the scarf, and no make-up!

I really don't like the idea that a girl, is modest throughout her life and don't wear make-up or tight clothes, changes her mind totally in her wedding party by claiming that it is only one night! Ignoring the fact that it is very important night, and we should keep away as much as we can from doing anything would displease Allah!!
