Most correct religion for mankind

Think about it Smoke, Judaism does teach it's the correct religion for Jews, and the only story we have about how Jews recieved this religion is absolutely abhorrent. Moses led them out into the wilderness to kill all the old ones off, so he could indoctrinate the young ones. It says they asked him: "Did you lead us out here to die?" Yes, basically he did, and if such a person as Moses ever existed, he was pure evil.

If we must choose a single religion for all of mankind, I can personally atest that it will need to be one that does not depend on the idea of God.

I ultimately agree Luis, that it must be a religion that doesn't make believing in God or not an issue, because being atheist or theist doesn't make one moral or immoral. Buddhism is such a religion, and there are both theistic and atheistic Buddhists.

Karaites, oh boy. Even worse. I know a Karaite guy who says homosexuals should be stoned if they live within Israel's borders.

It was previously suggested that Judaism is the most correct religion for mankind. Yosef, a secular Jew, disagrees.

Is Judaism the most correct religion for mankind?? If not, is there another in particular that fits the bill?

I think we all can agree that a religion can be right or wrong for an individual, but collectively or universally, is there one that stands out as a brighter beacon to guide all of humanity?

A spiritual seeker on a quest with questions

Are you looking for the single shoe size that will fit every human foot? Good luck with that!

Well Lo Trobador if I were to be honest, Jews in general don't have a fond view of Karaites, not even secular ones. Secular ones still know the Torah wasn't literally written by Moses, which is what Karaites suggest, and they reject all tradition.

The question isn't important. :foot:

Humanity should not have one religion.

Do not even suggest such things! :fight:

There is no one religion that will suit everyone or their thoughts/beliefs. There are many great faiths out their. I am looking at some myself. :)

There is no single correct religion for anybody and everyone. That would be like expecting that everybody will like the same kind of food, the same kind of music, and the same kinds of clothes.

That would be so boring. Diversity is the light of the world, its what makes our world interesting. Perhaps there are people who want to take that away from us, but personally I embrace difference.

But when you get right down to it, Religion is the Opiate of the Masses - it is what keeps us divided after all.

I don't think there's a single religion for everybody either, and as I pointed out, one of my problems with Judaism is that, while it may not claim to be the correct religion for everyone, it does claim to be the correct religion for Jews. Orthodox Rabbis have always been very clear about what they believe will happen to an apikoros (an apostate). The Gemara says he will be boiled in boiling excrement.

Thank you for your response, but I'm afraid it didn't address my questions.

That kind of silliness doesn't bother me much. I have a similar threat from my own former religion. I was often told that you don't have to be Orthodox to be saved, but an apostate will surely be damned.

Lo- therefore Karaites are mistaken, and not a good place to learn traditional authentic Judaism. Reform or Conservative would be my suggestion.
