Right up there on my movies I hate is the "Avatar of the Old West" - Dances With Wolves (or is Avatar "Dances With Wolves in Space"?)

That never dawned on me, but I really have had the chance to see Avatar either,

I forgot about 2001: A Space Odyssey. One of the worst movies of all-time. If I had not been able to fast forward through long stretches of it, I don't think I would have made it through.

Oh, come on what? The concept was interesting, and for the time the effects were great, but it told the story horribly, and the ending was...not good.

2001 ain't for everyone. I thought the ending was less than stellar though.
(Pun. Get it? Oh, come on! It's not that bad.....eh....well maybe.)

I'm also one of the 3 people who liked Dances with Wolves.
Yeah, I know it's preachy, but looking past that, it was pretty good.

I don't know how anyone can be a good atheist without loving 2001. And 2010.

I guess you'd want to pull your hair out while slowly browsing an art museum listing to Beethoven.

I consider it enjoyable, but hardly one of the best. Still, it was a game changing movie for sci fi. Special effects were like nothing I'd seen before, ie, more
sciency than fantasy throughout most of it. I see it as similar to The Matrix in that respect. Contrast it with Gattaca, much better movie, but with low key fx.

It's not that. I didn't like it for the same reason you didn't like There Will Be Blood.

I spent the whole 15 minutes (before I gave up on it) going "I can read the subtitles, or I can watch the movie. I can read the subtitles, or I can watch the movie. Looks like a good movie. wish I knew what the hell was going on".
