I do not dispute that Muslims are fighting ISIS/ISIL/IS in Syria and Iraq militarily, but I fail to see how that is evidence against what I said.
you fail to see evidence because you maybe generalize the teaching of Islam as extremist faith and his followers are extremists .

you need to make difference between opinion of some scholars and Islam .

there is no obligation to convert in Islam .
there is no tax of submission in Islam .
there is no fought fiercely in Islam .
there is many "there is no" .

for your first sentence , YES we fought ISIS...etc until we eliminated them .

can you deny that West and Kings of oil and Turkey ....etc had support ISIS indirect or directly against Bashar Asad , as the support Alqaeda against Soviet Union before ?

If the Qur'an is so clear on the matter, why do Muslim scholars get it wrong so often?
as I know from news as member of ISIS in Yeman , who encouge them to attack this magazine, they trainded in Yeman . USA had listed them in black list , so they were very known .

There no famous or known sholars who said "the Muslims must attack this magazine "

Or, put slightly more vigorously by the Mayor of Rotterdam;

Ahmed Aboutaleb, a Labour politician and former government minister, issued his uncompromising message on the day that Islamist terrorists attacked the French satirical magazine because it published cartoons mocking Islam.
“It is incomprehensible that you can turn against freedom. But if you do not like freedom, in Heaven’s name pack your bag and leave,” he said.

“There may be a place in the world where you can be yourself,” he continued. “Be honest with yourself and do not go and kill innocent journalists. And if you do not like it here because humorists you do not like make a newspaper, may I then say you can f--- off.”

Mr Aboutaleb, who became the Dutch city’s mayor in 2008, has repeatedly hit the headlines for his outspoken views on the integration of immigrants, including praise from Boris Johnson.
