Muslims only: Does Islam support creation or evolution?

I'm not saying you're wrong but what evidence do you have that humans were around long before Prophet Adam?

Well to begin we should first find out if the Quran calls Adam (as) the first man.

Here is a definitive answer in the Quran that makes it clear Adam (as) could not possibly have been the first man: Speaking about Adam (as) the Holy Quran says, [2:31] And when thy Lord said to the angels: ‘I am about to place a vicegerent in the earth,’.

All we need to look at in this word is the word Khalifa, which is translated as vicegerent. In every fair sense Khalifa means successor, so when Adam (as) was being created as the first man then how could he possibly be a Khalifa to? Who was he to lead and who was he to succeed when nobody else existed. No matter how one tries to bend this verse it will always break, as you cannot translate Khalifa to anything but successor.

I'm not saying you're wrong but what evidence do you have that humans were around long before Prophet Adam?

We do not even have to go into any religious scripture to confirm that there were humans living before Prophet Adam (as), all you need is science and history.

Adam (as) lived in this Earth 6,000 years ago. Science has discovered humans and fossils of human artifacts and tools that have been preserved for much longer than 6000 years. They use a method called 'relative dating', search it up.

Allah (swt) is the source of knowledge, and Allah (swt) told us to use our Aql, our reason, and not remain ignorant. Science is a creation of Allah (swt), and what our scientists have found is that humans lived long before 6000 years...

Also, it is common sense that Adam (as) could not have possibly been the first human, but rather, the first prophet. Because how can a man be a prophet and a messenger of people if he is the first man!?

It is illogical, he was obviously a prophet of his people, a messenger sent by Allah (swt), the first messenger.

Allah was the one responsible for evolving the human species and their minds, until the human species came to a time where they were capable of understanding the concept of God. If Allah (swt) brought messengers BEFORE humans even had any sense of anything, they would be completely confused and ignorant of anything, and unable to learn who God really is.

God evolved human beings til they got to a point in time where the concept of God was graspable. This was 6000 years ago, that is when he sent prophet Adam (as).

Not only does logic, common sense, science, and history support this, but the Holy Qur'an as well, as Rational Mind has simply explained.

I agree with most of what you're saying. Logic prevails. But where are you getting this number that Adam lived 6000 years ago? How do you know?
