Mustaches. Are they worth it?

Pretty much always had one. Annoying as a newborn, but I got used to it.
Seriously ever since I got out of high school I had at least something, I think maybe I shaved it off once for a month.
Now I have a goatee too... I don't know how people think without whiskers to stroke.
:)
I've tried things over the years. Beards mostly, but this mustache is fast approaching the longest I have entertained facial hair. I may have to remove it for practical reasons rather than aesthetics though. It seems to cause some interference with my CPAP.

I seem to like messing with it. Just as I recall liking to mess with the beards I have attempted.

Did the snow settle on the mo?
It did. I was awake about 5:30 (I have no idea why). I chanced to look out the window. It was still dark, but everything looked light and clear. I thought, it is almost as if it snowed. I was surprised to find that it really had.

Hitler modified his mo to fit under a gas mask. No need to shave it.

I jokingly consider a "Hitler", but I didn't think anyone else would see the humor in it.

By the way, I was confused again. Sorry about that. "Mo" is also used as a shortened form of Missouri on occasion as well as a reference to a mustache. To your question, I initially mistook it for the former and not the latter. Sort of dumb of me considering the the thread is about the latter from a guy from Missouri.

Did Hitler have a Missouri?

About three months ago, I started growing a mustache. I haven't had one in 38 years. I sort of like it. It has become the equivalent of a fidget spinner on my upper lip. I fidget with it.

But I am finding it annoying too. The way some of the whiskers will turn up and tickle my nose is incredibly annoying and I'm going to scratch it off my head at night.

Should I keep it?

How many of you like mustaches or have them? What problems have you had or is it just me.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, it is version of these masks that I wear. Not only is the seal interrupted, but the movement of the mask as I sleep causes the whiskers to turn up onto and into my nose resulting in tickling so fierce I worry I may claw my own nose off. Perhaps some sort of wax might help. I know that a woman got unwarranted money for spraying her hair with spray adhesive. Perhaps I can do the same with my mustache. I can not only keep it, but earn a good living from a "go fund me" page for others to pay for my stupidity. That is the ultimate goal I think. To get paid for stupidity.

I still have a mustache.

I've grown one a couple of times to roughly the point you're at now, and quite liked having it. But to keep it longer, you need to start doing proper maintenance. That's where I just shave it off...lol
I think that is the beauty of a beard or mustache. You can grow em and get rid of em and grow em again.

Can you go lip bald?

I've had a 'stache for about the last 50 years, and it will go with me to my grave. I can't grow a decent looking beard (too many bald spots), but I love facial hair on men, so wish I could.

The problem with the nose-tickling is familiar to most guys with a caterpillar on their upper lip. Best advice is just after your shower, dry your 'stache with a hair dryer making sure to train ever hair downward.
I'm trying something like that. I bought a special comb that I use regularly. Haven't tried the hair dryer. I'll give it a go and see if it helps.

I've never had a waxed mustache. My mustache has always been annoying, and somehow I always wind up eating soup. Soup is not very compatible with mustaches.
I've noticed liquids and many liquid foods tend to bunch up on the mustache. I've had to change my drinking stance (lip to container contact) to avoid some of the dripping.

What happens if you graft the skin of your upper lip to other areas of your body? Will the whiskers continue to grow. This could be the basis for another form of the current craze in body modification.

If I recall my basic biology, it should mean that you can grow a mustache anywhere a surgeon can find to place it.

The only question I have is: why would you want to grow a mustache somewhere else on your body. But then, when I see what people actually do, I often ask why about that as well.

The hair above my lip is asymmetrical, so I prefer not to have a mustache. Additionally, my beard hair is patchy, so I prefer not to have a beard. Lastly, the hair just below my lip is perfect, so I have a horizontal soul patch. Great success! :relieved:

Peter Brady had a mustache in one episode. I guess you could say he was a "Mustache Pete."

Easier to keep one’s nose clean without a stache.
Ah, but the stache can filter the fly out of your soup before it ever touches your lip! And if you have recently enjoyed some nice toast with peanut butter and honey, you can enjoy it for quite a while after the toast itself is gone. You have to consider all the benefits, you know. :D:p
