I've been asked by a few people to move this thread to a debate dir. What do you think? Should I request that it be moved?
Yeah, do dat. I wanna have some fun. I would like to make a few comments and see what kind of replys come back. :D

On the one hand, I would say don't move it so that this thread can stand in its own beauty without getting covered in layers of debate about everything except the OP.

On the other hand, I'm sure the Christians are itching to get their hands on it.

Depends on what you're looking to get out of it. If you have it moved, then it's going to turn into a scriptural debate.

But this thread is not about scripture. It's about people educating the ignorant, using either lies, or really little education themselves.

I'm not looking to start a debate with the Christians on the conversation itself. I'm looking to hear the PRO-Missionairies thoughts on the fact that someone so ignorant can take it upon herself to go teach the even more ignorant.

I understand that, but you know how this forum is.

What I would suggest is starting a new thread to discuss the topic you want, but refer back to this one. That way you can use this conversation as the base, but still be clear on what the discussion is about.

Good idea.
I will try that.

One part I noted is she mentioned the destruction of the temple, would not a good counter be the verse in Jeremiah that mentions that the covenant will now be written in their hearts?

I didn't know they had a chat. I might have to try it out sometime just to amuse myself. I left these sort of debates behind because they only serve to drive me absolutely insane and I really just don't care enough.

I do find it funny how they throw out words like "yeshivah" to appear as if they know something when in fact, they do not. And by "funny" I mean sad but you probably get my point. I have some fairly strong opinions on the group as a whole but I'll just keep that to myself. I much more prefer

But they won't admit it. They will ask "how does Dantech know that she was saying the right things?". No matter what you intend, a thread like this will quickly become a scriptural argument. And then devolving into the "true" meanings of Hebrew words with their Strong concordance being the authority.

Good point! The "Law"/Covenant that was kept in the Holy of Holies, which was destroyed, will put it into the Jews' hearts by the rabbis.

Perhaps Deut. 30:14 was implying that when the Temple is destroyed, the Covenant [that was in the Temple and by implication 'remote'] will no longer be hidden from you and distant (Deut.30:11), but will be written on your hearts.

This would solve the 'new covenant-not-like-'Sinai'-covenant' prophecy in Jeremiah because it will be written/inscribed/cut into our hearts, which is not like the way the Covenant that is/was lying 'remotely' in the Holy of Holies, which was inscribed on stone/cloth/leather/paper.

This implies that the Temple was a crutch/fetish that had to be destroyed so a 'new' way of inscribing the Covenant could take hold- and it wouldn't surprise me if the Pharisees were conscious of this task and finished the transcription (from stone to heart) just in time. ("Give me Yavneh and its sages, [not Jerusalem and its stone]").

Is this what you meant?

So I was visited by a couple of missionaries. I invited then in, sat them down, and offered them a drink while they wait for me for 5 minutes. I came back with a printed copy of this chat and asked them if they had anything else to add. They respectfully got up and said good bye.

You're too knowledgeable, they're looking for the ignorant and vulnerable to prey upon. Probably like Levite #9 response, they will learn to skip your home.

How the hay did I miss this thread? :clap

"And then, explain to me how he is G-d, please."

... priceless! ;)

That's usually the point I hammer on, until they kick me out or ban me or whatever.

Are there any statistics available on these types of people, Jews for Jesus, Messianic Jews, etc? I’m curious on how many converts are made among the ranks of observant Jews and non-observant Jews. I don’t know the terminology but I think you catch my drift. My guess is that if a Jew is not firmly grounded, it takes far less effort for the converter to make a convert.
