My one-way ticket to hell

Oh, please.

We're not joking about hell itself, we're joking about how easily some folks are willing to condemn people like us with a wave of their hands. You obviously haven't been paying attention to my posts, since I DO believe in a hell........numerous hell-realms, in fact.

And the Buddhist hell's entrance requirement rests entirely upon intentions and actions - not on beliefs. Live a life of rage, anger, hatred, and with a will to extinguish others, and one's karma will draw them there like a magnet. Ever hear of the phrase, "Misery loves company?" :D

Besides, Ghandi's there. And billions and billions and billions of others who had great minds and hearts who simply didn't accept Jesus Christ as their only Lord and Savior, including the 6 million Jews that were murdered in the Holocaust. Apparently, hell is FILLED with loving people, right?

And you wonder why we joke about it.........it's just crazy theology.

Peace,
Mystic

It's called a sense of humor. Invest in one, it'll do you wonders.

Besides, nobody can say where they're going for sure. The reason that people make these kind of comments is to silence those self righteous finger pointers who like telling people they're going to burn in Hell. If you say, "yeah I'm going to Hell," it steals their thunder and makes their finger pointing........pointless (yuck yuck! I'm full of good ones!).

The added bonus to that of course is that it also ticks off those self righteous individuals (as we can see). Which is why I suspect a lot of people claim to be Atheist: Simply to get a rise out of them. ;)

then who is the " as we can see " refering to?

Are you implying that I'm wrong in my assumption? Please correct me if I misrepresented you. If I'm right, what's so bad about sticking to your convictions?

Of course it is! :bonk: Why on earth would I ever practice it if it weren't? :D

Whosever guilty concious is bothering them.
Yes, I'd agree with this. That's the other problem I had with this person at the OP. He (or she) was trying to make me feel guilty for not believing in his Jesus.

He was trying to lay his own sins on me. Laying on the guilt, in order to get me to convert.

Heck, I know I am not perfect. I can be grumpy and cynical at times. Ok, at this time I don't believe in the existence in God, but then I also don't believe in Satan or the Fairy Godmother, unless there are real proof of it, which I am yet to see, but that's a that's a different story). Sins of not worshipping or believing in God and Jesus, don't apply to me because I have no direct experience with either.

He shouldn't put his own sins and his own guilt upon me. He doesn't even know me, but he already judge that I would go to hell. As I said, I am not perfect, and I don't particularly want to be perfect, but my conscience are clear. I do have some regrets, not guilt. If you are guilty on mere belief than the Christian god is not a just god.

The person who tries to aggressively force belief upon others, are usually the one who have trouble with his own belief or faith. They are usually ones who tried to over-compensate for their own failure or their own guilt.

Telling other people they would go to hell because the people don't believe is "judging others".

Good point. Perhaps they are insecure about their beliefs and need that conformation from others to feel secure. A lot of times you will find that when an individual or an idea conflicts with the majority (thus taking them out of their comfort zone), they will get nasty and or shun you. Out of sight, out of mind.

Birds of a feather as they say.

And Jesus confirms this in the Gospel, plain as day.
