Name some musical artists/groups that reflect your religion

I just got Seals & Crofts Greatest Hits. They are Baha'is, and their music reflects it. Tell me some music to listen to that reflects your beliefs.

You mean aside from going outside and listening to the awesome sounds of the gods/spirits all around you, like Wind Spirit blowing and the Winged Ones chirping? :D

I suppose this one will do:

Damh the Bard immediately comes to mind in terms of reflecting the spirit of my beliefs, even if the actual terminlogy and content conflicts from time to time.

The two Skyrim-inspired Miracle of Sound songs Legends of the Frost and Nord Mead also come to mind, as does the Song of the Lonely Mountain from the Hobbit movie, again, in terms of the spirit of reclaiming something that was stolen from us (i.e., being a reconstructionist Pagan.)

Those are really pretty!

Oh! There's also two songs by the metal band Blind Guardian, Skalds and Shadows and The Bard's Song. They're excellent representations of my creative spirit which is a huge part of my spirituality.

I've purchased some of his stuff too. I almost picked one of those as my sampler, but I had to go with something Four Elements themed. :D

My favorite is the wind making the pine trees in my yard "whisper."

I'm now sad that I don't know what that sounds like. The ecoregion I've lived in all my life doesn't include much conifers. I get to hear the sounds of Wind through deciduous leaves, but not much through needles. I wonder now how different they are?

It's worth investigating. I can't believe how loud these "whispers" actually are. It's beautiful!

The Moshav Band, Shlomo Carlebach, Neshama Carlebach, Rebbe Soul, The Rif, The Klezmatics, Emil Zrihan, Stereo Sinai, Hamakor, JudaBlue, the Maccabeats. All terrific Jewish folk/rock/pop acts.

Matisyahu, Y-Love, Diwon, Hip Hop Hoodios, Brody, Prodezra, Eshy, Nosson Zand, Ta-Shma, all great Jewish hip-hop/rap acts.

Israeli music isn't always "Jewish music," in the sense of the music being about Judaism, so much as just "music by Jews," but I'd still want to give a shout-out to Ofra Haza, Idan Raichel, the late great folk group Bustan Abraham, HaDag Nachash, and the rapper Subliminal.

Given the endorsement and great respect for music in the Baha'i scriptures, we Baha'is have had lots of musical groups!

Just a few of them include:
  • Seals and Crofts
  • England Dan and John Ford Coley
  • Red Grammer
  • The Voices of Baha
  • The Baha'i Gospel Singers
  • Dizzy Gillespie
  • K C Porter
  • Buffy Sainte-Marie
  • Vic Damone
  • Jack Lenz
  • Rachael Price
  • Andy Grammer
  • Kevin Locke
  • Doug Cameron
There are many others, but these should serve as a start. :)

There's Krishna Das. He primarily does Hindu bhajans and mantras.

I can't think of any Buddhist or Taoist artists/groups, though.
