Welcome. You are wise to seek spiritual truth first, then align with those close to your view of it. Christ said spiritual knowledge (gnosis) is a seed that grows in "fertile ground". I hope your path walks such fertile ground to find what you seek.Hello,
My name is Dora and I have a keen interest in religions. I am not practicing any religion myself, as I am a Deist, and Deists have no churches. I respect many religions and I believe that I can learn something from them.
Thanks everyone for the welcome wishes !Welcome!
Have you always walked the deist path, if you don't mind my asking? If not, what other paths have you walked?
Thanks everyone for the welcome wishes !
As a child I was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. But after my confirmation, I no longer felt a desire to go to church. I quickly lost my belief in revealed religions, but I still am convinced of the existence of a Creator God. And so I became a Deist. I also believe in the afterlife.
Cool! Have you looked much into other monotheistic faiths such as Islam, Sikhism, or Zoroastrianism? That last one is especially interesting, imo.
By the way, why are you convinced of an afterlife? Do you believe that souls exist?
