Okay, @Debater Slayer , what is falafel, and why is falafel the same for one or many?

This is falafel:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falafel

And it can be "a piece of falafel," "two pieces of falafel," etc. "Falafel" itself is a plural word, technically, but when you say "I want falafel" when you are eating, that can be understood to mean that you want just one piece.

I have no idea why the word itself has no singular form, though. I guess you'll have to ask the person who invented the word and/or the falafel itself. :D

Here, "falafal" is treated as singular.
The plural is, of course, "falafals".
And we eat a whole lotta falafals.
I like mine with hummus & pickles.

I was confused because I've encountered falafel at three different settings, and all were different: an assemble-your-own pita sandwich (small fried balls, veges, different sauces); a very different pita sandwich that instead of balls seemed to have a "loose ground beef" like form of falafel amongst the veges and sauces; and small donut-like fritters with dipping sauces. Now I see how it works! Yummy!:)
