So glad I have an addblocker and Java disabler. It's a bit of a pain and hassle at times, but so very worth it to never see a single ad on the net.

You were so right, actually. I tried an initial blocker and that was horrible until I found AdBlock. Working great. Thanks!

can you suggest a blocker for an hp laptop?
With Firefox, I use Adblock Plus and NoScript.
I also use Adblock Plus on my Android, though it doesn't work nearly as well as it does on PC, which makes all ads vanish and many websites giving your frowny faces and other "please don't...it pays for bandwidth."

Hi Folks..

Whats the problem..??....So - if we dont like ads - then simple - join and pay.... No more ads no more problems...

Or -you dont want to pay for whatever reason, but STILL dont like ads - then the answer is just as simple - dont click the ads - period full stop..lol...ignore them is all you have to do its really THAT EASY....lol...

Can't ignore the clear interference the ads are causing and this pay to play mentality seems to be a fad now. Might as well go full subscription.

There's a lot of forums with ads, but this one is among a few that are now extremely difficult if not almost impossible to navigate and post. Theres plenty more sites with ads that don't have those same issues with peoples browsers. Maybe it's intentional to get people to pay?

If less membership and viewership is what this site wants......

Owners privilege I guess.

Yer I hear that - but personally I have never had any real problems here...occasionaly - and only if the forum itself it busy - I may get a lag when typing or posting - but its usually rare for me....The real issue will prob turn out to be "bots" - we do seem to get a large amout - often over a hundred at a time...Perhaps that is taking the site resources and slowing things down..?>..Im no expert of course, but it doesnt seem to be the actual software or system as it is only sporadic (for me at least)....

You lost me. Is it the quote within the quote? That could be a browser issue. What browser are you using?

windows10 the edge
Get Firefox. Your computer will thank you. It's also way more secure even without adding additional plugins that enhance its security even further.
And it's open source, meaning updates are regular and more "on top of things" than what a private company allows for (or, at least as has been the case), and Mozilla (the company that makes it) is a non-profit. Not like Google who wants your very soul to sell it to advertisers.

the bots are having an orgy with my keyboard
I'd get the free trial of AVG and use every feature it has to scan your computer, because if that is happening you may have some ugly nasties buried deep within.
