Obama versus Trump responding to school shootings

That's why you pass laws that give anyone caught with an illegal gun up to 10 years in prison on that charge alone, much like the Brits and French did starting in the 1950's that dramatically brought their violent crime rate down. Now they have only a fraction of our homicide rate. If a person has an illegal gun, I think we can assume that they're probably up to no good.
However, they may, and I use the word may loosely, be sentenced to 10 years but they do not serve 10 years.
In addition there are groups like in the following link that want to reduce time for gun related crimes, and they are not the only ones. Try and find data that shows the average length of time someone actually serves in prison for a gun related crime. I haven't been able to.

It was such a staged affair with the sobbing of families bolstering this man's filth.
I don’t recall Obama staging crying families, but it does bring to mind Trump parading the parents of two kids killed by MI-6 members during the “immigrants are here to kill us” section of his State of the Union address.

Your powers of deduction are quite.....special.
If there's nothing stopping terrorists and those with mental problems from buy AR-15's and bump stocks, they will buy them and use them. I'm in favor of laws such as universal background checks to make it much harder for them to do so.

That's nice.
But it's still wrong to presume I favor well armed loonies & terrorists.
