OMG - Muslim Calligraphy in Virginia Schools!

Inappropriate? Yes. But I still don't understand why they shut down the school.
Simple. Schools were shut down due to the local threats they were receiving. The outrage from the conservative evangelicals in the area.
As seen in a previous post in this thread, the evangelicals believe the teacher had a jihadist agenda and was intentionally trying to indoctrinate the school for their holy war.

I'm sure you know this is not what I meant. Show examples of others strapping bombs to their bodies and killing innocent people in the street (or the equivalent) in the name of their religion.
Jewish religious terrorism - Wikipedia

Christian terrorism - Wikipedia

I look forward to your imminent goalpost shift or handwaving of these examples.

That's without even getting into classical state level examples of organised religious motivated violence by Christians or Jews...

Don't they do that because they don't have an army with vehicles? They like to improvise. All religion is dangerous in one form or another.

The study of asymetric warfare is fascinating. It's the eventual resort of all frustrated and powerless people. In the modern era, generally considered to have started with the pIRA. Of course, "strapping bombs to themselves because they're evil Muslims that can't be reasoned with or understood and they just want to kill innocent people" better suits a certain narrative than "a legitimate military tactic of disempowered, desperate people"

Oh, and watch now as I'm attacked for "sympathising with terrorists", or some such. Because attempting to understand them and discuss them in anything but cartoonish willfully evil terms doesn't serve that particular narrative either.

Okaaay. Which Religions have standing armies?
Nice attempted spin. Of course, no religion specifically has a standing Army (although various sects and denominations of various religions have and do) but that's all rather moot, of course, since Islamic terrorists are not representative of the entire religion of Islam, as you well know. I get that that doesn't go with the narrative of the evil Muslims bent on our destruction, but if you're actually interested in a fact based discussion, rather than hysterical doom mongering...

Edit: any particular reason you didn't acknowledge the information I posted for you? Too inconvenient?

Why bother? I'm sure you're always right.

you asked for the information. Don't get upset when the facts contradict your biases.

FYI; trumpette prejudice against experts and the educated notwithstanding, being right about a topic isn't actually negative.

Either way, what relevance does Islamic terrorism have to do with a discussion ona school calligraphy lesson?

This statement looks self contradictory.
Adding to it, Israel (the Jewish state) has an army.
The State affiliated with Judaism has an army. Judaism does not have an army. The Israeli army includes people of a variety of religions and does not function as an extension of the religion (though many of its policies are driven by religious ideals). There is a concept of a "Jewish army" (at least there was when I was a boy) -- Tzivos Hashem | Home
