The Oneness of humanity requires a unity in our diversity.

Those of Faith can choose to see that Oneness reflected from God, those without faith can choose to see it reflected from virtues.

Tony, i have known of your posts for 4 or 5 years,. I don't think i have ever seen you create a thread that was not in some way tied in to Baha'i. And i see this as no different.

Me neither. 'Oneness' is a key word in Bahaispeak. Note how it was Iran who was thought of for human rights violations. There are 50 other countries that could have been mentioned, but no, it's Iran, because that's where Baha'i are 'persecuted'. We all see through it. It's not that hard.

But in an odd way I admire the perseverance and will, despite at least a dozen people attempting to have a real debate over many posts, even pages.

How about telling me about your two dogs? Their breeds, their habits, etc. Then maybe I can tell you about the dog I'm getting to know. (In other words, do you have a life besides proselytising your faith on internet forums? That's all most of your 'opponents' want to see, as it is humanity.)

Very poor countries in Asia implemented free education long long ago. Up to University. Some of the west is yet to catch up.

My wife is from Burma and none of her family can afford to go to University. Basic education is free but to acquire a trade or profession a higher education is required which the poor just can’t afford.

Accepting all human beings as part of one human family has nothing to do with faith or religion.

I thought about this for a couple of days and the views of a few are just that, the views of a few.

The oneness on humanity will be the view of the majority, it is the way of the future.

The world needs the oneness of humanity to permeate minds and action's, as such, the world also needs people that will continue to offer this, despite what some people may impute about the intent.

That is something they have to live with.

Hi Christine. I think we need to take a reality check.

My wife is Burmese. (Myanmar). When the military dictatorship seized power and began shooting men, women and children, the people pleaded and begged the UN to stop the slaughter not to mention the recent genocide of the Rohinga.

It fell on deaf ears because China and Russia vetoed any response. Russia even said why are we bringing this trivial matter to the UN.

Everyday. the slaughter continued and still does. My wife was deeply distressed as her family are in Burma. Everyday was torturous not knowing what was happening. Some people we knew were tortured to death, completely innocent.

When people cry for help nobody answers. Even Ambulance officers were beaten to death with the butts of rifles for rescuing the injured and it is filmed.

Where was humanity then? They are our fellow human beings. I don’t care who it is but humanity has a responsibility towards its own human beings. This is just one country. These kinds of oppressions are ongoing elsewhere.

So we just tell these people ‘ sorry you’re not American or Chinese or Indian so it’s not our business? Try to imagine it’s you’re family, you’re children scared to attend school because of bombs going off.

So then the oneness of mankind is about putting our vetoes and national interests aside and rescuing the oppressed from tyrants.

But China and Russia who are profiting from arms sales to the dictatorship put business before human lives.

So where does this end unless the oneness of mankind becomes legal law worldwide where national interests play no part in rescuing people from oppression and genocide?

The dictatorship recently made a law forbidding the wearing of masks as it said the threat to the country is not covid but the resistance! What sheer madness. Willing to expose their own people to death and disease. Where is the international community? Criminals and murderers running a country while the world does nothing.

This is why we need the oneness of humanity to become more than just an airy fairy ideal. It can mean life and death to the poor and oppressed. Meanwhile my poor wife prays everyday that humanity will start addressing injustices and not allow national interests to get in the way.

There will always be religious groups who think they deserve more oneness going in their direction

A lot of what you say is true. And those other countries you mentioned, my heart goes out to those people. I don’t think oneness to act necessarily means unanimity. If the Responsibility to Act clause could be decided by majority vote of the General Assembly we may be able to help those people a lot more.
