Online porn debate is it bad ?

What a sad thing to say.

But no, a lot of things will not disappear without a profit motive.

Sex is not a "profession". The exploitation of sex is. And it's a profession that is harmful and damaging to any culture foolish enough to allow it. But you are not going to understand any of this because you think money defines all value and purpose. Which is itself part of the harm and damage that has already been done.
Money buys things you almost cannot survive without it.

Porn isn't bad. But porn addiction is. Everything in moderation.

Fortunately, this is just a symptom of our current Culture and not an actual real thing..

Money is a medium of exchange and saves us from having to barter with other people to get things that they have that we don't have. As such it's very real and very useful. Jesus said "the love of money is the root of all evil" "not money is ...". The problem arises when when the acquisition of money, or stuff that goes way beyond our basic needs, is seen as a goal in itself.

Yes, but money itself is worthless and has no value outside of what we apply to it. It does not exist without the societal structures built to sustain it. If the US or any other country goes away, their "currency" is worthless, because there is nothing to back it.

Well I see what you are saying but I still disagree money is real it's real plastic and metal and paper. And I don't think money will ever stop existing.

Yeah but most people use money to buy food not kill themselves.
If there were no laws against lying to people about what you're selling, people would sell poison and call it food. Even with those laws people are still trying to sell poison as food by lying about it. The idea that "free markets" somehow magically self-regulate is insane. Or that "freedom" should never be infringed upon or regulated is insane.

My daughter is home this weekend from college. She told me that romance is practically unheard of. She describes it as a "hook-up" culture. I wonder if access to porn contributes to this? Arousal is encouraged and rewarded? Intimacy is not?

Nearly everyone under the age of 30 learned about sexuality from watching internet porn. None of them realizing that what they were seeing was not human sexuality at all, but was just sexual exploitation for money. So they had no way of understanding that other people's bodies (and their own) were anything more than sexual play-toys. And so that is how they are being treated, now.

And yet because our minds have been so poisoned by capitalist greed and lies, we still fight tooth and nail insisting that porn is "normal" and "harmless".
