I Believe That Lord Shiva Is God As Creator And The Preserver Of The Universe. And Ofcourse Lord Shiva Is Good To Everyone.Lord Shiva Takescare Of The Universe So Ofcourse He Does Miracles For All Of Humanity And Not Only A Certain Group Of People.Ofcourse Since I Am A Shiv Bhakt I Have A Personal Connection To Lord Shiva And Lord Shiva Always Watches Over Me And Protects Me And Guides Me On The Right Path.Lord Shiva Has A Personal Connection To All Shiv Bhakts.

But Remember Since Lord Shiva Is God Since Lord Shiva Is The Creator and Preserver Of The Universe Lord Shiva Takes Care Of All Humanity.Lord Shiva Does Things For The Greater Good Of Humanity.

It's just that Shiv Bhakt's And Lord Shiva Have A Personal Connection.Since Shiv Bhakts Are Devoted To Lord Shiva He Is Our Primary God.Some Follow Other Gods Along With Lord Shiva.

But I Follow Only Lord Shiva

Jai Bholenath Ji !!
That is very nicely explained wolf. May all your wishes and prayers to Shiva be fruitful.

Guys One More Question I Have Is

Yesterday I Went To Lord Shiva Mandir And I Attended The Aarti And After The Aarti I Got A Tikha From The Pujari Along With Prasad. Then When I Was Leaving The Temple I saw Two People Wipe Of The Tikha From The Forehead.

Is This A Insult to Lord Shiva I Mean Why Would You want to take it off.
Its Understandable If You Have A Bath And It Goes Off But These Guys Just Wiped It Off The Forehead.

Is This Considered A Insult Or Is It Allowed .

Some people take it off because they are ashamed to be Hindus.
Some also take it off because they don't want people to know they are Hindus.
Still others might feel its dangerous. (Hindus in a minority situation)
This all can vary by region or country. For example, here in the west, many take it off because they don't like being stared at or questioned.

As far as insulting God, no, that's not possible. Our God can't get insulted.

Good morning, everybody ~ Namaste,
Wanted to share a link to a site that I start my days out with (http://remindersfromgod.net/). It's called "Reminders from God" and sometimes they are so spot on, I feel like Beloved is talking directly to me. I get my daily reminder in a widget but one can also sign up to get via email. Here is today's Reminder. Nice, huh?

"Dukh mein sumiran sab karen, sukh mein kare na koye;
jo suck mein sumiran kare to dukh kāhe to hoye."

Kabir (meaning in the post above)

Meanie, not giving full translation, too! Something there about misery (dukh) and happiness (sukh), right? Oh, that poet Kabir. You would have loved hearing my Guruji sing his songs. God...! Oh, tears stop it.

You are Love, beckoning across a chasm of ignorance
While I walk the tightrope of faith —
A wind blows —
The slender thread quivers.
We know it might have broken
Were it not for Your grace….

I AM with you all the time.JPG

Namaste, wonderful devotees of this ashram and good morning!
Was on my way to the kitchen for a cuppa, thought I'd drop off a poem I wrote and Beloved's answer. God is great!!

Not sure if I understand it right, but I know lots of people who do see God in happiness. I'm one of them. God is with the true devotee ALL the time. In fact, an argument can be made that we forget God in sorrow ... and whine about Him being gone.

Oh, Vinayakaji, so well said! Makes me grin. Thing is, if you're whining about Him being gone, yer still thinkin' of 'im. Not that you can practice viraha (pangs of separation) but right there's its blueprint.

I have corrected the Kabir verse. Typo. However, if you ask Gopis, God is all sorrow. Depends on the situation. :D

"Udho, man nāhin das bees, ek huto so gayo Shyām sang, ko ārādhe ish; .."
(Uddhava, we do not have ten or twenty hearts, we had one which went away with Krishna; with which heart do we worship the God now?)

I still don't get it. God is great joy and bliss! Sorrow, too, for He is all and in all. Maybe that's what you mean?

To Gopis, after Krishna moved to Dwarika, God was sorrow only. He never came back. Viraha, Separation, Firaq.

Aah Haa , this is not sorrow as we might know it but love in sepperation , it may manifest as sorrow but it is lamentation , ..as having tasted the sweetest fruit everything else becomes tasteless , ....having enjoyed the company of Krsna one wants nothing else , ......thus there is no forgeting and no enjoyment other than in his presence or his service , ....

Not familiar with Vaishnava stories enough to get this.

the same must be for you ?... knowing the divine nature of Your Shiv ji you can never be forgetfull of his glories , .....knowing just a little of this divine nature leaves you allways wanting to bask in that glorious presence , ...and wanting that experience to allways deepen but never to wain , .....

He is all and in all. Maybe that's what you mean?

He (my Krsna , your Shiv ji) is the hight of enjoyment and knowledge the sweetest taste the perfection of human understanding , ....All and All , ...yes certainly , ....

it is here that we become torn , we as Vaisnava want never to be sepperated from the supreme , not for even one moment , ....but to merge as some might wish to do with Brahman , to become the supreme although this to some would be the higest of attainments to us it would be less than desirable , ...as it is the difference between loving or being loved and asking which is the greater , ....is it to give or to receive ? ......if one were to merge with the supreme one would surely become Glorious but to remain seperate one eternaly enjoys the association of Glory and enjoys the pleasure of remaining in Awe , .....

Thanks for clarifying. I understand how some people do turn to God only in times of sorrow, as I've met them. On a personal note, I view it as an incomplete understanding, like the athlete who thinks God is on his side. As far as the dvaita versus advaita end result scenario, I'm fine with any differences. It's only philosophical stance anyway.

just when I thought RF was boringly bereft of devotionand had left all to the circular questioning , ....I should have known that we should count on our favorite atheist to inject some truely devotional content , ....
"Udho, man nāhin das bees, ek huto so gayo Shyām sang, ko ārādhe ish; .."
(Uddhava, we do not have ten or twenty hearts, we had one which went away with Krishna; with which heart do we worship the God now?)

utterly beautifull , ......

Udho, man naa bhaye das-bees (Udho, human being has only 1 mind and not 10 or 20 minds)
ek huto so gayo syaam sang, ko aaraadhe Ees? (Though you are preaching us to worship God to calm our mind, my mind had gone with Syaam. Now with which mind shall I worship God?)
Indri ****hil bhayi keshav bina, jo dehi bin sheesh ->The organs by which I perceive Shabda (Voice), Sparsha (Touch), Roop (Scene), rasa (Taste), Gandha (Smell) have become dull as if a body without head.
Aasa laagi rahati tan-swaasa, jee jo koTi barees (My breaths remain only with a hope to see Kesava.)
Tum to sakha ho syaam sundar ke, sakal jog ke ees (Uddhav, you are friend of my Syaam and you are a learned man with knowledge of all the Yogas wiz Bhakti yoga, Gyaan Yoga, Karma Yoga etc.)
Soor Hamaare Nand-Nandan bin, aur nahi jagadees -> For Soordaas, only Nanda-Nandan (Son of Nanda= Lord Krishna) is Jagadeesh (Lord of the World)

thus Krsna is called Chitta Choor , .....

'āsā lāgi rahati tan-swāsā, jī jo koti barīs': even if I live for a million years, hope will persist in my body and breath (that Krishna will come back to us)
koti: actually ten million, one crore.

Guys I Have Decided To Also Pray To Kali Ma As I Feel A Strong Connection To Kali Ma.Is It Okay If I Pray To Kali Ma As Well.

May I Ask How Do I Actually Pray To Kali Ma.
Can I Pray To Kali Ma Just By Closing My Eyes And Praying To Kali Ma.Or Do I Have To Do A Certain Ritual To Pray To Kali Ma.

So Far Since I Have No One To Guide Me On How To Pray To Kali Ma.
Is It Okay If I Open A Image Of Kali Ma On My Mobile And Pray And Then Say Jai Kali Ma! At The End And Close The Image Is This Fine Or Not.Just Asking Please Do Not Get Angry.

As for praying that will be enough, the minimum, it can be made more elaborate but never oppressive. She is the Mother. Talk to her about what is happening in your life and ask her the best course of future action. When disturbed, find solace in her, seek strngth from her. That is from one (myself), who is an atheist but once was a theist - so I know. :D
