It does.Pain sucks.
I feel like I'm always in pain. Something. Somewhere.
Today, aside from female biological processes that cause pain in the lower back and abdomen, I have a splinter in my right heel that I'll have to dig out today, a giant bruise/scrape on my right hip from running into a doorknob at high speed, and my right knee is swollen from trying to climb over the clawfoot bathtub to see if the cat was hiding in the window(he was). I seem to have ongoing problems with my left heel(and overall feet in general) and right hip, but happily, they're not present this morning.
I'm just curious, how often do the rest of you get bumped up, or have other aches and pains?
I'm glad you're doing better now; sorry you got hurt.At approaching 69, there is usually some niggle somewhere. As with so many people, it is often my back, or something referred from there to create a sensation elsewhere, e.g. in a hip or something. But also other things. The other day, my son and I vandalised a rotten garden bench so I could take the bits to the dump. In the process I hurt a big toe - and afterwards found my left wrist had become stiff, as if arthritic. Both are OK again now.
Awhile back, we sacrificed our bedroom in order to have a dressing room. Its nice, but we have to keep it locked, or Ares will go through and pull his dad's dresser drawers out(and dump the contents) and will go through my closet and toss everything across the room(he's hoping to find an old key or broken electronic). But why did you run into a doorknob at high speed? That seems rather an unforced error.
I find Surya namaskar in the morning does help get the back and hips in better shape.I forgot about my back. Lifting moderately heavy objects causes back pain, standing in one place in an imperfect way and as does who knows what causes pain. For back pain, stretching and strengthening exercises before I get out of bed has helped.
Sorry to hear of your aches, too!I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this. I hope the pain subsides soon.
I'll give you a careful, gentle glomp in the meantime.
I sometimes do mindfulness practices with my lower back/hip pain(seems to have happened from having children). I find because I unconsciously tense a lot, it actually does reduce pain in the area.I rarely get bumped up, thankfully, but I regularly experience aches and pains.
First, I have nerve compression affecting both hands. This sometimes causes numbness, shooting pain, or dull aching.
Second, I have (very) mild scoliosis, which, while not problematic in most situations, occasionally causes back pain when I sit in front of the PC for a few hours or longer.
Third, I have high foot arches, so walking longer distances or standing for too long can be quite painful, especially if I don't wear comfortable shoes.
I have gotten a lot better at handling pain via my mindfulness practice. When I feel the pain start to shoot up either of my hands or creep down my back, I remind myself that these are the nerve signals in the body doing their job to inform me that something needs relief. This doesn't reduce the pain, but it often reduces the suffering resulting from it.
You know, I had an idea Ares might be at the bottom of it all, somehow. Hope the bruising clears up quickly.I'm glad you're doing better now; sorry you got hurt.

Someone left the dressing room door open, and he'd done his usual bit. I discovered it while we were both upstairs; he went to run because he knew I'd make him clean it up. I ran after him, hoping to get him before he got downstairs(and maybe out the front door). Unfortunately, due to the coats(which are usually in the closet) being strewn all over, the door stuck and the doorknob caught my hip as I charged by. I knew that one was going to get me later, but I ignored it, caught him, and a very unhappy boy cleaned up the mess(to the best of his ability).

I anticipate a week or two... Though, my right hip is the one that tends to hurt. It rotates forward sometimes. However, other than the site of injury, its not bothering me at all today. I wonder if that knocked it back into place. You know, I had an idea Ares might be at the bottom of it all, somehow. Hope the bruising clears up quickly.
I'm not sure which joint it is; it tends to ache and pull at the base of the tailbone and the pain radiates all the way over the hip into the front abdomen. I've been told the pain comes from the rotation. I don't think we've had this conversations; if we have; I've forgotten, too.The thing about having children is interesting. Is that the sacro-iliac joint? I can imagine they might get a bit stressed in pregnancy and childbirth. Or is it just misalignment of the lower back? If the latter, I was given some good exercises by the physio which really seem to help. (Or is this a conversation we've already had?)
If it rotates forward that must be the sacroiliac joint I think. Hmm. I had an exercise for that, involving lying on my back, pulling the knee up to the chest and then trying to straighten the leg while holding the knee with both hands to prevent it moving. I'll give it a shot.If it rotates forward that must be the sacroiliac joint I think. Hmm. OK but do it gently at first. I am not a trained physio and would hate to bugger you up even more!I'll give it a shot.

Sorry to hear that; hope it eases soon.I'm regularly breaking something or coping
with lingering results of injuries. And then
there are dental & health indignities & pains.
And I'm about 9 years younger than that dog.
I know it's going to get worse. Perhaps I'll
start biting other posters too when I'm 78, eh.
Today, my right shoulder & right ribcage are
vexing me.
Don't be sorry. I'm having fun commiserating.Sorry to hear that; hope it eases soon.

I accept these things as normal, & they don't
interfere with anything that matters to me.
Really...life is good for me.
I've loaded Mr Trailer for tomorrow's trip.
A life hack tip....
Change wants to match capabilities.
But with better knees.Don't worry...you're still both geezers to me.... ya couple of old geezers
Yeah, it is sometimes fun to compare battle scars.Don't be sorry. I'm having fun commiserating.

But with better knees.
