If you've never had the misfortune of knowing a psychopath, you're likely to be naive about their nature and unable to recognize one for what they are. You would believe that they behave like a mentally healthy individual who learns lessons and is capable of being a good person. Psychopaths, especially stone-cold psycopaths, are a rarity that few directly encounter. In this sense, I don't blame them for their naivety. If I hadn't dealt with someone on the spectrum of psychopathy in my life, I'd naively believe reformation was possible too. But when someone is glaringly unrepentant with a rich history of exploiting others for personal gain? There is no lessons learned for stone-cold psychopaths. There is only a continued pattern of abuse.
