House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday blasted President Trump’s push for a citizenship question on the 2020 census as an effort to “Make America White Again” — claiming, “it’s not what our founders had in mind.”

“They want to make sure that people, certain people, are counted,” Pelosi said at a press conference in San Francisco that focused on election security.

“Just their people vote and not the general population,” said the Democratic lawmaker. “That’s why they’re fighting the census.”

No idea, seems like she wants other groups to vote Dem because they hate white folks. Hmm, racism? Yes.

Personally, if this is your entire platform -- stoking the fires of racial division and pandering to those that think that way then the Dems just need to quit. We have no use for this, none at all... It's a massive step backwards.

It's also normal for governments to collect racial data on censuses for legitimate needs -- like welfare allocation, medical resources (yes, different races have different susceptibility to various conditions), and even law enforcement needs. (different races are involved in different sorts of crime, so the police often consider the demographics with their efforts) Of course, that's just the short list off the top of my head -- but, none of that is racist, just helping the government meet demands.

I don't know if I can listen to the whole hour long press conference to give you context. But generally the argument is that citizenship questions don't belong on the census because they would deter participation in the census (including some citizens because one or more members of the household are not citizens). The argument against that is that house representatives and government apportionment of aid rely on the census. So, if you are counting illegals in the census then you are giving weight to their presence with respect to the representatives (even though illegals are not allowed to vote). The census is also used for other things as well. The census is also one of our best indicators of demographics and is used for much more than simply apportionment of aid and determining numbers of representatives. Therefore, it is important to have reliable figures. Leaving the citizenship question off will lead to more reliable figures leaving it on will help eliminate counting illegals for representation.

Aliens and Voter Fraud

To sum it up basically. Because a lot of states don't differentiate between citizen and non citizen when obtaining a driver license, non-citizens have been registering to vote when the get a driving license. Even though legally they are not allowed to vote because they are not citizens, this loophole has been used to procure non-citizen votes.

Hence why the citizenship question needs to be on the census to help us sort this out. Or some other law like a voter I.D. card which proves you are a citizen. Both of these options have been repeatedly denounced by Dems over the years under the ruse of racism.

But the fact is it's a loophole the Dems have been taking advantage of and they don't want to give it up.

Anyways if you don't see how allowing non-citizens into the inner workings of our govt is a bad idea there's nothing more I can say. Looks like treason to me.

As much as the Dems worried about Russian interference in elections then to go on and promote the idea of non-citizens being on the inside of govt says a lot about their own hypocrisy.

If congressional representation is to be based upon citizen populations,
then the total for each state would be adjusted for non-citizens.

620,000 illegal aliens registered to vote according to the article, and that was back in 2008. That's hardly minuscule considering that number has grown in the past 11 years.

Nothing wrong with wanting only citizens of your own country to vote.
