Picking Up Snakes

I mean, in all fairness I wouldn’t recommend them as pets to 99% of people. Unless you can keep them in zoo like conditions and maintain their diet it’s not responsible. Snakes do require stimulation in their environment.
You can get dwarf versions whereby they are selectively bred in a way to keep them smaller than wild giants and under 8 foot but I mean… it’s not always possible to determine how big a snake will get
When I was growing up, we would keep a few non-venomous snakes during the summer months. Speckled kingsnakes, black rat snakes and Eastern hog-nose snakes.

I remember finding an amelanistic hog-nose that was very yellow, but we didn't keep it. My aunt was freaking out, so my father asked us to let it go. Then there was a speckled kingsnake that hung around the house and we would occasionally see it. My dad named it Titus Coil.

Nah. A cute little corn snake wouldn't do that. I think corn snakes are little cuties. Probably going to get another one as a pet. I'd be afraid one of my cats or dogs might hurt and eat it, although.
I mean that big yellow python!

Yes cornsnakes are manageable as pets but they can be active and are semi arboreal so still require a decent amount of space.
You’re lucky to be able to see reptiles naturally. Tokay Geckos are very cute as with all geckos. I’ve held a Burmese before. He was very chilled

My uncle had a python like that. He used to breed snakes. I do think looking back with how small the cages were it was irresponible at times.

but I do remember bring 8 or 9 and holding a Burmese about that size and looked like that. Her name was Dottie and she was albino.
