Police remove woman from woman's bathroom.

Were the officers just investigating a complaint as they are required to do?
There is nothing that requires police to perform a "gender check" of people using the restroom.
What would be the right thing if they were investigating a complaint and the person had no ID.
Let her use the restroom. It's not like she was selling drugs or causing any sort of disturbance. Rather, the police took it upon themselves to tell a cis-gendered woman that she couldn't use the women's restroom. What makes it an even worse judgement call is the total and utter lack of evidence to support the idea that men dress up as women to harass, look at, and rape women in the women's restroom. It just isn't happening. You'll find more cases of voter fraud, and that itself is rare.

According to the comments section in the link you posted they are not Police officers, but Security Guards, which brings up the possibility the whole thing is staged for the effect its getting, or not, who really knows.

Even if they were security guards, it's extremely unlikely it was staged, and they still handled the situation poorly and inappropriately.
I can only hope this incident goes further to show just how dumb these bathroom laws and concerns are.

http://www.snopes.com/lesbian-ejected-nc-bathroom/ The video was first posted in 2015 well before the bathroom laws existed.
But it's still true she was kicked over some ******* thinking she was a man. And even if it was before that particular law, transsexuals have long faced legal difficulties over restroom use. It is a given that wherever this happened, it had to have been a place with a similar law.
And, just to put it out there, there are even restroom apps for transsexuals to use so they can know the legalities of using the restroom where they are, and what nearby locations are either trans-friendly or have family/unisex restrooms.

Funny how Occupy Democrats say "so it begins," when to transsexuals, it began a long time ago.

Man, you should be happy to live in a place where there is so little actual crime for police to deal with that they can split time as bathroom monitors...

Ahem.
We have plenty of crime here, but cops often prefer to do useless things.
Note:
Not all cops are bad, but I run into some who are.

We have no shortage of crime here, but cops who love taking hour-or-longer lunch breaks sitting at Waffle House or IHOP. We had a guy killing people a few years ago, pretty much a full blown serial killer, but yet the local cops would prefer to pull over people on a nice spring day and search them just because it's apparently something to do.

Who said anything about 'requires'?? But what about when they receive a complaint?

I agree that this whole subject is a mountain out of a anthill.

Wah? Even if it was a man, what if he just really had to pee and ran into the first restroom he saw, not really seeing a sign, but letting out an audible "ahhhhhh" as he relieved himself? And then the embarrassment from having went to the wrong room?
"Fornicate" the police, comin' straight out the underground!
It's something nice and friendly!:D

If he admits to making a mistake like that and did no harm then all would be forgiven. What is the issue?

The issue is that a cis-gendered woman was ran out of the woman's restroom. People have become so hyper-sensitive to such things that they kick anyone that they remotely suspect out. They are so worried about a man in drag who is also a sexual predator going into the women's restroom that even women who were birth-assigned as women are evicted for not being "feminine enough." The issue is that such worries are not based in reality.

That isn't necessarily true. Even in places like New York where there is no shortage of crime, I have read of trans-women being harassed, and even ticketed, for using the women's restroom.

Sorry...I know it's impossible to tell tone on the boards, but I was joking.
Police doing this is frigging ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure the first thing an officer does when he gets almost any kind of suspect is ask for ID.

It is very clear.
"Do you have ID?"
"No I do not."
"Then get out"

She was not arrested or taken into custody, just kicked out of the bathroom. So I ask you, what could her ID possibly have said that would have made a difference? Either she was causing a disturbance, or she was not.

If a person with ID causes a disturbance kick them out. If a person without ID causes a disturbance kick them out. If a person with ID does not cause a disturbance leave them alone. If a person without ID does not cause a disturbance leave them alone.

It is not that complicated.

So I ask again, what possible difference could her ID have made?
