Politics of Shaving

I take it as nothing more than a call to men to realize what it is to be a man, which is NOT to be a bully or an insensitive oaf. I don't know why so many guys are getting their jimmies rustled. This is not the wussification or emasculation of men, as I keep hearing. I think there are too many men who have given other men a bad name, and it's time for us to call them out.

....it's time for us to call them out.
We already do.
Can you imagine the outcry if the genders were switched to make women the problem?
I think that's where the primary objections lie, ie, that men are problems; women are victims.

No, nothing has switched.
I suggested a thought experiment...
A commercial which portrayed women as being a problem,
& urging other women to step in to fix them.

Sounds like things are worse over in France.
Here, not as much.

I agree 103%. I didn't want to go further and say that I think this stems from radical and "empowered" feminists, whether those feminists are male or female.

We, and I mean men in general, are subjects of the not-at-all-funny male-bashing, bromance, male-bonding and what-have-you jokes about men. I worked with a woman years ago, whose every other comment was "well it's a man, what do you expect?" Strangely, she was single and never had a second date with any of the guys she dated. Men who want to work and provide for their families, who are loyal and faithful to their families and jobs are treated like garbage really, and all lumped into the "toxic masculinity" garbage can.

When the friend I spoke of in another thread was going through a divorce his soon-to-be ex-wife was ragging on him and being a shrew about something petty. As we got in his car to go somewhere I looked at him and said in a semi-joking way "but can't you do anything right?" He said back "I guess not". So, we begin to believe it. Keep telling me I'm a loser and I'll believe it, or that I act a certain way and I will.

So, while I don't have a problem with the commercial or its message, I have a problem with the reasons for it, and their source. The only thing that disturbs me, and I may be overthinking it, is was this ad created by men who are genuinely concerned, or by women marketing execs pushing an agenda?

Note the question mark, i said its switching. In most civilisations throughout time women have been on the loosing side in everything but bearing children? Over the last 50 or 60 years some equality has been creeping in.

Sounds like things are worse over in France.

There ya go, democracy blames the woman too
Well, she does deserve responsibility for the loss.
But not because of gender, which shouldn't entitle her to win.
Hers was a poorly run campaign.
One could call it "deplorable".
Think about it....
Republicans handed her a dream candidate to beat....Donald Trump.

If you say so good sir, but i am sure that the good american voters would have voted slightly differently if she had to shave her face more than once every few months
