Should create a poll asking, "Are you a hominid?" It might be interesting to compare the results of that poll with this one.

You're assuming everyone responding is human.
At time of this writing, only 1 person out of 7 voted "no." To that person, I ask if you have any difficulty recognizing that the two beings in the attached picture are dogs -- family canidae. Humans, Chimpanzees and Bonobos, Gorillas, Orangutans are all members of another family: hominidae. These are both simple scientific facts. Why is the first easy for you, and the latter not?

The question was whether we were apes. The answer hinges on the definition of "ape."
I think of ape as a taxonomic category in biology. Are you using the term in a different sense?
