Hmm, well, I am sort of in a Wiccan meetup group,but... I chose Hinduism, because they know how to have a proper holiday. I mean, Holi? Diwali? Can't be beat.

Once went to a Holi festival in Germany, complete with DJs and lots of booze tents, it was really incongruous.

None of them, where is that option :p
Even if you wanted to join, we would have said, Thank you, but no. :p
I don't know about Hinduism. Unless someone can explain these religions without using the words consciousness, being, universe, and cosmos, and instead use concrete words, then I can figure out my views on it.
If you can figure out what 'dharma' is, then that is all that is required to decipher Hinduism. The rest all is but an extension.

I'm familiar with Dharma.. but from a Buddhist perspective. I studied a lot of it until I went into Nichiren Buddhism. The followers dismiss Shakyamuni's words completely. So, I forgot a lot of what the Buddha spoke in many many of His sutras. I wonder if Hinduism has the spin on life as Buddhism--but then that's hard to ask, since there are so many sects.

There is no difference between the 'Dhamma' concept in Buddhism from that in other Indic religions (Hinduism, Jainism, and Sikhism). Shakyamuni's words are too precious to be forgotten. A spin is a spin, and there could be hundreds. I talk about 'dharma' without spins, and that does not change. It is eternal, that is why we term it as 'Sanatana'.

Aaah. Yes. That is a common teaching. I should put that on my wall or something. Here is the site I went to when I was studying Buddhism. I lost my place. A Complete Buddhist Sutra Collection

Not Shinto. I do admire Japanese culture, but I am not a part of that culture and have no ties to the land.

Not Wicca because I find it rather laughable and hypocritical. I explored it and rejected it during my teens. I prefer my Pentagrams "inverted", if you catch my drift.

Taoism never interested me.

I would go with Hinduism since I am drawn towards Shiva and Kali as it is. Since I consider myself Left-Hand Path, I'd fit right in. Jai Kali Ma!

I have sympathy for Shinto, a sister (or Brother) Pagan religion. I wish them prosperity.
Their respect for ancestors is as strong as in Hinduism. :)

Probably Taosim because it's more a way of life than a religion. Taoism can be religious with some ritual, but it need not be religious.
Not Shinto because it's very much bound to Japanese culture and somewhat ritualistic.
Not Hinduism because it's very much bound to Indian culture. The theology doesn't resonate with me, nor does the ritualism.
Wicca is also ritualistic, which I have a hard time with.

Hinduism... a religion with 33,000,000 gods literally has something for everyone.
Yes, you would need to be more specific than just 'Hinduism'. Like, if you say "I'm Hindu" then others will want to know what you mean by that. You can say "I'm Toist" "I'm Shinto-ist" or "I'm Wiccan" and the scope of what you are talking about will be much more established by those statements.

Well since I have only been a Hindu, you would guess I would pick Hinduism because of that reason... but actually I would pick Hinduism even if I weren't a Hindu.

The reason is the OPPOSITE of being "well defined"... (other than Dharma, viz dhamma) ... Hinduism is exactly for me because I love lots of colors, lots of sects, lots or arms (ha ha), lots of heads, you have many forms of yoga, you have lots of Guds (I count 330 million but don't want to debate that right now), lots of temples, LOTS OF PEOPLE (I have always been a "teaming masses" sort of cadet), lots of languages, you have LOTS OF DEVIS (and also Kumaris), lots of art styles, lots of food, lots of lots of.

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's .... Lots of music... lots of mantras... lots of incense and smells and bells and trails to the lots of holy gateways and lots of fun and lots of adventure.

Jai Kali Maa!

And Happy Shivratri 2015 (this Tuesday)!

... and LOTS of relatives! And lots of countries! And lots of sweets! And lots of love! And even interesting fights, too! and lots of kids. And lots of the sweet girls of the entire world, the gals and girls frum India!

That is a tough one for me, I mean having to choose form four religions if I had no choice except t
choose of Hinduism. Taoism, Wicca & Shinto, I would say I would give it great thought but that would just be a lie, my choice out of the four would have to be Hinduism, though I am not one for the cast system within Hinduism I would choose Hinduism because of the conceptual practise of monotheism. polytheism and pantheism so I could practice any one of the three, depending on where I stood it would be a choice between monotheism and pantheism in addition to all this one could practice warrior hood and be able to fight , I would probably choose the third of the three.
