Poor Little Dem's Mad: Taking Their Ball and Going Home

QuestioningMind

Seems that the Dem's are "taking their ball and going home" or in this case their articles of impeachment. Seems that if they don't get their way in the Senate they will not send over the articles of impeachment to the Senate.
House Democrats impeach Trump, Pelosi floats holding up Senate trial
Nancy Pelosi won't commit to sending articles of impeachment to Senate - CNNPolitics
Pelosi says House will wait to send impeachment articles to Senate for clarity on rules

Or is it they know they are going to loose and just want to leave the impeachment articles hanging around until President Trump gets reelected in 2020:D

Republicans putting party above the country and the constitution... truly pathetic. Nothing but a bunch of traitorous idiots.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Like always it's in the eye of the beholder. Swing voters may not care. The others are entrenched in either side.

The impeachment proceedings are to satisfy those entrenched in their positions.

Will it come across as a fair trial by those whom are not on either side? Who knows!

I don’t understand your hatred of socialism. Then again, i’m not fond of Modern American conservatism.
examine the outcome of the population when a Socialist government is in charge.

This is what I understand the absolute least about this whole thing: what on earth do all those Republican lawmakers think that they owe Donald Trump?

What hold does he have on them? Is it the money that comes from the Koch brothers, and other super-rich conservative contributors to Republican coffers? Does he know who they've been sleeping with? I just don't get it!

A person who is "entrenched," as you put it, is not a thinking person.

Over the course of my life, I've voted in many different ways, and in every election, my vote was only cast after a lot of reading, listening, research, thinking and feeling. There have been times when I've felt compelled to finally vote against the party that most naturally (for the most part) represents my thinking -- but I've done that when I truly believed that there were better options, or when I've truly believed that my party needs a "time-out."

But by any token you still need to step up to the plate.
Not necessarily....after all, its a Thursday in December, and the wind is from the northwest.;)

His aging brain, and his sources at Info Wars.

Soooo...you saying the best way to call a bluff is to not even show up for the game?
In addition to the multiple impeachable obstructions cited in the Mueller report, tRump’s absolute blackout imposed on witnesses testifying before Congress is the impeachable crime of obstruction of Congress”.
Period. Full stop.
The republicans are carrying out a bluff, in that they claim that if the witnesses came forward, then they would clear the POTUS. However, Moscow Mitch has stated that he will be fully biased in favor of the president, even though in taking charge of an impeachment trial in the Senate he is sworn to be unbiased. He has also stated that he wishes to make the senatorial trial decisively short and with absolutely none of the witnesses speaking. Furthermore, it should be noted that the senatorial trial has the power to summon witnesses whether or not the White House wants them to go.
If Republicans are not bluffing, .... then they will demand that the witnesses come forward and clear the presidents name. Period.
(Hint— they know that the witnesses will incriminate the POTUS. and therein lies the bluff).

At this point in history, Mr. Donny tRump has been impeached for high crimes and obstruction of Congress: all rightly and justly proven with the POTUS’s own admission, computer records of the attempted cover up, the delayed and partially released transcript of blackmail/phone call, etc...etc...etc...all with ZERO attempt to deny or justify tRump’s crimes by republicans. Period.

Before us, Moscow Mitch and the uniformly ostrich-positioned GOP are openly preparing to have a show-trial before handing in their top-down ordered acquittal of their emperor.
Meanwhile the Democratic leadership of the House will try to grant the GOP senators one last chance at constitutional redemption before the senators blindly follow Mitch and tRump down the hole of mass treason.
To show that they uphold the US constitution they must call all of the witnesses involved with the call to the Ukrainian president, Mitch must recuse himself, and they must consider the evidences with sober minds.
And THAT is why she Speaker Pelosi is delaying. For justice. For the good of the country, and for the good of the GOP. If a god exists, may it bless her.

OK.....we sure have a language inadequate
to the task of addressing social benefits.
We surely do.

But consider -- when a nation like yours or mine provides "foreign aid" to other, perhaps needier, nations, that comes from tax payers, no? I mean, government really has no other source of income. So if we can provide such aid to foreigners, why so hard to provide similar aid at home?

And it's not always tax-payers that fund national social programs. Here in Canada, everybody who earns a salary pays a portion of that to general income taxes, a national pension plan, and an insurance plan for unemployment. For the latter two (pension and unemployment), employers also contribute on the employee's behalf. Then, when we retire, or lose our job, there are benefits available already paid for (in theory )

Healthcare is paid for out of general tax revenues. But this is also not a bad thing. Think of this: everybody in Canada is entitled, in the fall and winter, to a free flu shot -- paid for from these general taxes. But everybody benefits -- including employers who suffer much reduced loss due to sick leave. Those (especially marginal earners) who had to pay for a flu shot may well prefer to take their chances -- and then, of course, show up for work when they're not feeling well because they need the income -- resulting in spreading their illness around.

Its because the Republicans want a sham trial, they don't want to allow the democrats to call witnesses.

Most U.S. senators might realize the real sham has been the partisan House Democrat's effort to depose our P.O.T.U.S. on the basis of him having asked Ukrainian authorities help us determine if there'd been a kickback of some U.S. foreign aid from Ukraine to the son of Joe Biden, who was paid millions of dollars by the Ukrainian company, whose boss is widely suspected of embezzling millions of dollars from the Ukrainian government; this having been funded in some part by U.S. foreign aid.

Most Senators might not want to bother with calling witnesses who'd wrongly delay the U.S. Senate from rightfully exonerating our P.O.T.U.S., who has done nothing worthy of being deposed by a partisan impeachment coup.

Seems the Trump Party really wants the ball and Pelosi is holding onto it.

Meanwhile the clock is running down on those court battles the WH is fighting to prevent any more inconvenient evidence from coming out.

It would be a shame if even more damning evidence had to be considered at trial.

And are now trying to run away apparently
This is wishful thinking by the Trump Party’s supporters, and it’s fascinating to see.

The Trump Party has stated their goals. They want (1) an unfair trial and (2) to get it over with quickly. They can’t accomplish #2 until Pelosi sends the articles, which gives Schumer leverage to negotiate with McConnel rules in the Senate trial that might mitigate #1, to some extent.

Pelosi can release the articles at any time, and during that time, the odds that the courts order more witnesses to testify continue to increase, while Trump Party goal #2 slips further away. If McConnell wants to avoid potentially more damning testimony and wants to get this over with, he may need to cut a slightly better deal with Schumer on rules for the trial. It’s a clever move.

Trumpworld, naturally, would like to goad her into releasing the articles with nonsensical sports analogies about admitting defeat. It won’t work on her. Playing so easily on ego is really more of “a man thing”, as she once put it; that is to say, a Trump thing.

It’s fascinating how Trumpworld bends every aspect of reality in their favor.

You might find this of interest:

"Donald Trump is pressuring Mitch McConnell to hold a swift Senate impeachment trial and acquittal. Nancy Pelosi is waiting to send the articles of impeachment to the Senate until McConnell makes some concessions toward having a fair trial (or at least one that includes some witnesses against Trump). Even as this chess match plays out, there’s another angle to all of this as well – and it just came into play.

The House impeachment hearings brought as much dirt to the surface as possible in Donald Trump’s Ukraine extortion scandal. But before the House hearings, the media had already dug up a bunch of dirt in the scandal. While the hearings were going on, the media found even more dirt. It was a given that after the House hearings ended, the media would uncover even more dirt. Sure enough it’s already happening.

Public Integrity has just gotten its hands on documents showing that immediately after Donald Trump’s infamous phone call with the President of Ukraine, the Trump regime began illegally freezing U.S. military aid to Ukraine. The documents further prove that it wasn’t mere coincidence, and that there was a conspiracy to keep the whole thing under wraps.

But the House impeachment hearings are already over, you say. Isn’t this bad timing? No, it’s perfect. The two articles of impeachment are broad enough to stand on their own, even as more details of the criminal plot emerge. The articles don’t need to be revisited or revised. This new dirt does, however, make these articles of impeachment more powerful. The more dirt the average American hears from the media about the Ukraine scandal in the coming weeks, the more likely that person is to 1) support impeachment and removal, and 2) want a fair Senate impeachment trial that isn’t merely a sham acquittal.

Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans understand this. They’ll be watching the dirt on Donald Trump get worse and worse in the coming weeks, and they’ll see more Americans in the middle start to side with impeachment and removal. The more time that elapses between now and the start of the trial, the harder it’ll be for Senate Republicans to rubber-stamp Trump’s acquittal without putting their own Senate majority at risk in 2020. And if they do acquit him and then even more dirt surfaces, they’ll be punished in 2020 for having acquitted a guy who then turned out to be maniacally guilty.

So much for putting party above the country and the Constitution....
Nancy Pelosi won't commit to sending articles of impeachment to Senate - CNNPolitics

Pelosi and the Democrats are serving America by obstructing and besetting Trump and the Republicans - at least the law-respecting part.

And frankly, the concept of country in America is degenerating. America is two nations of people living together that detest one another.

Any good prosecutor knows you don't take a case before a jury when the jury starts off stating THEY'VE ALREADY MADE UP THEIR MIND THAT THE DEFENDANT IS NOT GUILTY. You wait until you have a jury that promises to be impartial. It's called putting country above party. Sadly that's something you apparently know NOTHING about.
