So you believe that giving birth came from the curse of Eve? I always thought that it was the pain and suffering that came from the curse, not the giving birth part; interesting. Oh, youve just given me an idea for a thread, no, another question for you guys, thankyou!!:)

I think that I said that wrong. I didn't mean that giving birth was a curse in itself, just the pain and suffering. I really hadn't thought about that before, but no I don't think that giving birth is a curse from Eve. I don't have any reason to believe that it was. Sorry, I didn't mean to lead you to think that.

Thankyou, FFH, i appreciate your response and look forward to the rest later.
Sorry, got distracted with some other threads, but this is a topic I think worth investigating more deeply.

Will we procreate the same way in heaven/afterlife ???

This is a huge question that deserves our attention.

My wife and I were promised children in sacred blessings given to us, yet she is 46 and I am 41 and It is safe to say we will never have children in this life.

However for our blessings to be fulfilled there must be the possiblilty of having and raising children in the next life/heaven or during the 1,000 year reign of Christ, when all pain and sorrow will cease.

Can you imagine that, no pain during childbirth ???

I tell my wife wouldn't you rather wait until the Millenium (1,000 year reign of Chirst on earth) anyway, to raise our family, when things will be much safer and secure, at a time when all will know the Lord.

We will continue to raise children in the Millenium, just as we have been doing and when that child reaches adulthood he/she will live, without getting old/aging, until he/she reaches the age of 120 years, at which time he/she will move into the next life without dying/experiencing death.

Heavy stuff I know, but it's all scripturally sound doctine.

Will we continue to have and raise children in this next phase of our lives, assuming we live during the Millenium ??? Yes, absolutely and I will cite scripture to back this up.

Why then would we not assume the same to be true when we move onto the next phase of our existence with God the Father ???

It stands to reason that we will do the same in heaven where the Father and the Son dwell, although there is the arguement that we may only create spirit children, which we will send to another created earth similar to ours, just as our Father in heaven has done.

The same process occurs on other worlds. Spirits are born, tested, as to their trustworthiness or faithfulness to God's principles of righteousness, and then die, just as we see happening now on this earth.

:) understood. But I think all of the LDS members here would agree it is anti.

It took you 3 minutes to find out it's an anti-Mormon book? You must type slow. It took me less than 10 seconds. ;)

Well, here's the blurb from a site that sells the book [emphasis mine]:

Mormanism, Mama & Me is the intensely personal view of "Granny" Geer's life, her Mormon heritage, and her conversion to Jesus Christ. In addition to her story, she contrasts important tenets of the Morman faith with biblical truth.

Raised a Mormon, Granny not only explains the history and doctrines of the LDS Church, she also gives personal insights in an extremely readable style. Her book will not only give a deeper understand of Mormonism's errors, it will touch the heart in a way that most books cannot.

Gee, and here's the description of the site:
Watchman Fellowship is an independent Christian research and apologetics ministry focusing on new religious movements, counterfeit Christianity, cults

You know, I'm not a Mormon and don't play one on teevee, but I find it really disingenuous of you to say you didn't realize this was an "anti" book. Or maybe you don't bother to read the back covers of books you read before you read the text inside?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0802456332/ref=sib_dp_pt/103-0288949-2408618#reader-link

The book is categorised as "cults and occult"

There's the blurb itself.

Hm, let's see, the author has appeared in such films as "The Cult Explosion." Yes...perhaps that was a film about pyrotechnics in international terrorism.

Ah, Granny Geer's "Mama, Mormonism & Me"? Interesting you haven't picked up that the book is "anti." Have you got to the part about our supposed orgies in the temples yet? In case you were wondering, the temple ceremony she presents in that book has no bearing whatsoever to reality, or at least to the genuine LDS temple ceremony.

No, i haven't got to that part yet.

What do you mean by this "sacred blessing"? Also, it's never too late, there are some women having kids in their 60's!! Not that i think its a good age, but your'e still young.

However for our blessings to be fulfilled there must be the possiblilty of having and raising children in the next life/heaven or during the 1,000 year reign of Christ, when all pain and sorrow will cease.

so can only some people have kids in the afterlife? If so, why? is it if youve had kids on earth, you cant in afterlife?

Can you imagine that, no pain during childbirth ???

Sounds wonderful, very hard to imagine though, after having gone through it!:D

There seems to be different phases, like when you say "move into the next life" what does all this mean?

Thanks, FFH, always enjoy your posts.

You'd like me to start a thread about "How to be disingenuous" ? :areyoucra

My wife always complains that I have a problem with hyperbole. (and I do). So now I was trying to understate it and I get flak for that too... women.... :areyoucra

To be perfectly honest, the search was just a formality....

Well, I figured as much, just from reading the OP.

But it pays to check one's facts.

btw, I thought the explanations about the Seer not being doctrine were very clear and useful.

My favorite part of the amazon.com page was the part that says:

Better Together
Buy this book with The God Makers: A Shocking Expose of What the Mormon Church Really Believes by Ed Decker today!

LOL. yeah, the God Makers, only one of the most famous anti-mormon books ever...

Yeah, I had a chuckle over that as well. Good ol' Amazon -- they sure do know how to direct their customers to similar material, don't they!

I left that out, as I figured there was enough direct evidence just in the book's back cover anyway.

Yeah, Ed Decker... he really has a bee up his bum about LDS and also about masons, doesn't he?

I would hate to think my life's work was spent in spreading half truths and negative propaganda about others. :cover: Surely there's something positive to write about something, somewhere?

Sometimes I think Amazon.com could give the NSA a run for their money with surveillance.

I find that people like that usually are saying much more about themselves than anything else. Oh well.

Ain't it the truth. This thread is almost as enjoyable as the one where Apple_Pie is telling Muslims about Islam. Gosh, RF can be more fun than SNL or Al Gore sermons.

*deftly flips porkchop over*

I am glad you enjoyed it. I would have been quite worked up about it if mormons didn't get asked questions like this practically every day. Since we do though, I am used to it.

Every time somebody asks a question like this, they think they are the first one to ask it like they uncovered a big secret.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think I'm really lucky. At least we don't have to fend off a battery of same-o same-o criticisms. We get all sorts of bizarre variety to deal with, which at least fends off ye olde ennui.
