Irrelevant. You cannot diagnose yourself. That's how it goes. Even Einstein could not diagnose himself.

Could I give a F****

Don't make yourself look like a complete idiot by claiming these professionals are somehow guardians of the sacred knowledge - you'll sound like a typical religious evangelist doing this. :D :D :D

PS I hope Einstein had better things to do.

So you know more about it than actual doctors do? That's quite an ego. Try and prescribe yourself medication, then. See how much your fake diagnosis is accepted then. As a person with actual diagnosed mental illness and personality disorder, I don't appreciate fakes like yourself misrepresenting the issue. When I thought I had Borderline PD, I went to my doctor and asked. Turns out I don't have that specifically, but have a mixture of PD traits. That's why you go to the actual professional.

If you believe that you had a PD, which you do indeed believe, is there a reason why you never saw someone to receive a diagnosis? Or if you did, what was the outcome?

Well, those with AvPD are such - they don't typically seek help. Which is what I have never done in almost my entire life, not even talking to good friends about such issues. I did have what I considered to be some kind of breakdown a long time ago, and where the doctor prescribed anti-anxiety medication. That lasted about 7 or 8 years, and I managed to ease myself off of them. That time was a total disaster since I probably didn't need them (and certainly not for that length of time) and they just kept me from progressing away from any problems. That was the only time I ever consulted anyone.

Look chum. Psychiatry just isn't that kind of science. It is not so clear-cut, and most professionals no doubt will be following guidelines, ticking symptoms off a list, etc., noting what the patient has to say, delving for hidden issues from childhood, etc,

Think I can't do all that? Well I can, and have! Hence an autobiography. I had to delve as deep as any professional might have had to do. I obviously am not trained in any psychological arena but I think you'll find that many can self-diagnose various ailments.

As to your insults, perhaps that's your disorder talking so I will let it pass. I don't tend to abuse others, since I have done that to myself for so long.

I think they took exception to your use of "cured." It sounds like you found a way to better manage any issues you were having.

Understandable, but that is effectively what has happened. If I meant that I have managed to deal with my issues I would have said so. I really do mean I have effectively ridden myself of them. Online tests seem to affirm this. Personality tests seem to indicate this, along with emotional expression, etc., such that it does seem to confirm a drastic change, apart from feeling it myself of course.

Yup. We give up when a debate reaches a stalemate and neither side will budge. @Lvcifer Invictvs and I will go double trouble someone else now.

Well, if they give any trouble, like breaking too early to spoil the fun, send them my way - I'll be their counsel (for a small fee) :D

Lucky it was just the two of you - I usually break down in tears and surrender when confronted with more. :p :p :p

I suggest you read this (I have), it details the horrendous mistakes in psychiatry up to the present day:

Shrinks: The Untold Story of Psychiatry, by Jeffrey Lieberman (2015)

.. such that Einstein might have been better off dealing with his own issues by himself, given that he was probably more intelligent that any doctor, and most will have been as in the dark as he was. :D
