Jeff Sessions will be Attorney General.

And Trump is meeting with Romney this weekend, reports that they'd be discussing a possible Secretary of State role for him, that would really be surprising given their past and Romney's differing views on foreign policy.

Personally I would love it if Rand Paul became Secretary of State, but that's just my wishful thinking with no basis whatsoever in reality.

Jeff Sessions for AG, and he will be a great one. He has been a senator from my state for several terms. Has always done a fantastic job. He will bring back honor to the AG position.

Jeff Sessions for Atty General? The one who said that grabbing someone by their genitals is not sexual assault?

Seriously?

Huh, I need to research what his take on FP is. It has been awhile.

So we have two that have publicly made racist (anti-black) statements (Bannon and Sessions), two who have publicly made anti-Semitic statements (Bannon and Flynn), and then two that have made blanket condemnations of Muslims (Flynn and Bannon) so, ya, Trump is off to a wonderful start.

The fact that so many of the Trump supporters really aren't bothered by this pretty much tells us the degree of bigotry that exists within that element. And no, I will not discuss these points as all one has to do is to google name + quotes to confirm what these three have said.

When did Sessions make racist statements?

For starters, take his quote in context. He was talking about Trump's alleged actions. If you read the entire interview, he was saying that he was not sure if it was sexual assault because he did not know all the details about the allegation. Secondly, he would be correct under Alabama law that groping is not sexual assault, but rather physical harassment. Each state is left to define the scope of their laws.

Didn't he call a white lawyer a "disgrace to his race" because he litigated voting rights cases for minorities?

Name one person that has never in their life made a negative comment about someone else.

'Everyone else does it' - classic example of playground logic and it does not excuse this man's behaviour. He is a senior part of the law-making process and should resultingly be held to a higher standard of conduct just like the man who picked him for the position of AG.

The same could be said of Hillary, who broke the law with her private email server. Federal regulations MANDATED that she use a government server. Not only that, but she ignored a federal subpoena and destroyed 33,000 emails along with computer equipment. The "higher standard" argument works both ways, not just for the person/team you don't like.

The FBI investigated her (twice) and concluded that while her behaviour was negligent it wasn't criminal. I'd like to assume they have a superior on American federal law than you do.

Not only that, but she ignored a federal subpoena and destroyed 33,000 emails along with computer equipment.

And since Clinton isn't the one forming a government her behaviour is now a non-issue - as questionable as it is. Trump's conduct, as well as those he is appointing and thinking of appointing is what matters now and should be subject to full scrutiny. You can't reasonably excuse away their behaviour by comparing them to the actions of their political rivals. You can excuse literally anything with that which is rather disturbing.

Sounds as though you've got a pretty broken moral compass if you think deleting emails is equivalent to outright racists, xenophobes, misogynists etc gaining access to the highest levels of lawmaking in your country.

I agree but if the only argument you can fall back on is to say "Ah, but they've done it too" then you're grasping at straws. You're tacitly admitting that the accusations of misconduct have enough force that you feel the need to deflect. Whether Clinton deleted emails or murdered babies, her behaviour isn't pertinent to the issue of those in (or being brought into) the Trump administration.

And it's rather hypocritical that you're telling me this since you're using the past conduct of the team you don't like to excuse the past conduct of those who are (or soon will be) on the team you do like. Double standards, much?

To quote Jesus, "he who is without sin, cast the first stone."

Jesus said that to a bunch of religious folks who were about to kill a prostitute; considering Pence, Sessions et al are just the sort of people Jesus would be saying that to, doesn't that tell you something? That also, as you said earlier, goes both ways. These men are far from perfect yet they're in a position to drop some legislative rocks on millions of Americans. Maybe you should be pointing this particular Christian cliché in their direction?

Jesus also said things like "Love thy neighbour as thyself" which is something that Trump, Pence, Bannon & Sessions all fail spectacularly at doing.

Fixed it for you. Oh and I know PLENTY about the law.

Proof for any atheist that there is a God!

Has more to do with national security and not being transparent. That trumps (no pun intended) saying mean things.

Let's not forget the $1,000,000 gift from Saudi Arabia for Bill's 65th b'day they "forgot" to report when she was SoS. Or how her daughter's wedding was paid for by the Clinton Foundation as well as propping her up for a decade.

If a politician is talking, they are lying.

Romney, like most mainstream neocon Republicans, goes further than Obama in wanting to oppose Russia, calls Russia the USA's number one geopolitical foe, etc., where as Trump is the complete opposite, wanting to improve relations with Russia etc. Romney is also generally interventionist, where as Trump appears to claim to not be interventionist (only time will tell) apart from when it comes to things perceived as a direct threat like ISIS.
