That's great; people who contribute to messes should help clean them up.
Apparently it's still bad enough that some people still fear for their lives.
It is.
Fear is the toughest hurdle anybody could ever contend with. I understand why people want to run. Unfortunately as history shows it's just taking one set of problems and creating another set of problems. It's a vicious and terrible cycle of perpetuity.
Maybe some see it but for the vast majority of people it seems only an end result is getting addressed, rather than its source.
I would think in order to break strangleholds in Honduras is going to require the same strength and resolve that was levied against Pablo Escobar. It of course won't stop cartels, but it could put a control on the extreme pockets of power that causes this type of migrations we see today.
I couldn't find too much information on how the programs are doing today in the taking back of Honduras, I'm hoping they are still in effect and with a joint effort I would think it will eventually be resolved enough so people won't have to live a life of fear. I think they just need people who can take a proper stand and the rest would arguably follow.
