The fact that Islam is a fast growing religion is, I believe, a testament to the ability of Muslims to deceive converts as to the true nature of Islam. Also since Muslims are threatened with death should they choose to leave Islam adds to it's numbers. And it's debatable whether or not Islam is the fastest. The non religious group is the fastest growing in the United States.

As to whether a fast growing Islam is a good thing or not one only needs to look to Islamic nation states and the problems caused by Muslim growth in Europe.
