Punishing censorship on social media: what do you think?

Er, yes. Yes you can tweet anything about Obama.

Do you think there are no tweets that insult Obama?

For instance...belonging to a certain religion is not an insult, because all religions are praiseworthy.
I just don't believe he is a Christian as his wife is.
Period.

Okay. Cool.

And what does that have to do with what we are discussing?

Are you suggesting no tweets have ever been allowed that insulted Obama?

He said those things out loud, on a street corner? So where's the "thought" crime?

"In order to not make anyone listening feel singled out, he said “Jesus died for the sinner…. Every heterosexual has sin. Every homosexual has sin. Sin is when we violate the laws of God….” He did not target any particular group of people or single out homosexuality."

Not to mention the bias in your article. Um, yeah he did single people out. Out loud: Gay people. Specifically.
If you don't think like I do and talk like I do, you go to jail?

YOU brought Obama up!

Are you suggesting people are not allowed to tweet insults about Obama?

I brought Obama up because I was talking about Barr's tweet.
And it had nothing with Jarret's race because she thought she was white.

And as I was pointing out, she just expressed her opinion, and since she's a comedian she has also a right to satire, guaranteed by our Constitution.
So she has a right more, than others.

She does have that right. Nobody took away that right.

But other people also have a right to not like the fact that she said that.

And people not liking the fact that she said that gives her employer the right to determine if she is doing damage to their businesses public image sufficient to cut ties with her.

Do you understand?

A person standing up in a crowded room and shouting "I don't like Ted because I think he has an ugly nose" has the right to do that.
And everyone else in the room has the right to dislike that person for saying that because they think having an ugly nose is not a good reason to dislike someone, and that the shouting person is behaving poorly.

Both are free to do so.

Perfect. But you have already explained it perfectly and clearly, before.

I was just underlining that, if I tweet that I support A. Mussolini, and my employer is a staunch dem, he cannot fire me.
Period.
It's illegal. Article 15 Statute of Workers.

I meant both Trumpians and Trump.
You forgot to provide an example for the other end of your claim about doublestandardism.

"Dems are the most biased (we use the word doubledstandardists in Italian) in the world when it comes about freedom of speech, they think that "dissing, insulting Trumpians is freedom of speech", whereas rightists cannot do anything. They are supposed to shut up 24/7."

Hope did you get that out of it?

The dude was, out loud, promoting hatred towards gay people. That's more than a "thought." And not a "thought crime."
No... I he was talking love.

And then, if you share about biblical sexuality at church... OH NO! - thought control :)

Evidently they have been censored...on Twitter

As a private citizen and employee, that might be the case. But if you were a public figure whose image is considered of import to the company, that may not be the case.

I disagree. Depends on what your definition of love is, I guess.

Burt you didn't respond to my point about the "thought" part of the "thought crime." Thoughts are said in our heads. Words are said out loud.
