Quebec says French citizen not proficient in French

This one is worthy of a "flying fickle finger of fate" award. More than worthy.

Canada's Quebec province has denied immigrant status to a French citizen because she was unable to demonstrate adequate French-language proficiency.

Quebec bars French citizen on language grounds

"If someone who is French and born in France, going to a French-speaking university and doing everything in French and they are still denying this, it's nonsense,"

Despite passing a French test to prove her language ability earlier this year, she received a rejection letter stating that she had not completed her education entirely in French - including her thesis.

When Justin Trudeau speaks French he makes dull grammar mistakes ...

I think the Anglo tyranny has tried to anglicize Quebec in every way and les Québecois are fighting back, and rightfully so.

Btw...why didn't she write her thesis in French?

PS
I am not saying Trudeau doesn't speak French...but he evidently is un Anglophone who thinks in English and tries to translate roughly from English...and it is so evident.

The article answered that question.

But I would like my question to be answered.
Why are Québecois so paranoiac about languages?;)
In the article, it says "Only one of five chapters in her thesis on cellular and molecular biology was written in English, for publication in a scientific journal."

Pretty strange. At least there's this:

"Quebec's immigration minister said in a statement on Thursday evening that the decision "doesn't seem to make much sense". He has asked officials to look into her case."

She did. Read the report.

ONE chapter was in English, for the sake of wider publication in English language journals. Don't forget, a PhD thesis is a piece of original scientific research, not just a school examination. Most of the science journals are in English, so if you want your stuff to be known about, putting it into English is a good idea. Normally, one might take this as positive, demonstrating as it does, fluency in two languages, a great asset for a scientist. It just looks like another example of rigid rules interpreted stupidly by officials. I have no doubt it will be overturned, to avoid Quebec becoming a laughing stock.

But such rules are a symptom of the threat the Francophone world feels to its culture from English. I have a lot of sympathy for that in principle.

The French Imperialism created a cultural industry called Francophonie that is very fruitful..and they justly want to preserve it.

Unlike us who are incredibly possessive about our own language...

But I mean...les Québecois have the right to get angry when a guy from Manitoba moves to Montreal but refuses to learn French...
Don't you think so?;)
There are people like that all around the world. There are Quebecois (LOL my tablet also offered the alternative Quebecers) that move to Manitoba and refuse to learn English. It is not a good reason to get angry at either.

Those are at fault too. Likewise.
