Question for females about sexism

Because, historically, it was men who made the decision that women should be the ones to stay at home. So all you're doing is buying into patriarchy in the end.

So no female could ever make a non-conditioned free choice to become a housewife?

Yes, it is sexist. This is the nature of life. I believe sexism in this case is not a bad thing.

But when males take care of females, it is not because they are males. It is because they can and needed to in specific cases and status; e.g. husbands are the first in responsibility take care of their pregnant wives.

That's how I see it. I hope it makes sense.

Wait, the OP is asking females only!

Noah, I see males are posting so I made a mistake and posted. If it bothers you, do tell so the staff can take care of it.

It is sexist if it is a must. I don't like gender roles, I view them as harmful to both genders. It's ok to chose to have an arrangement, I don't see stay at home moms or dads as inferior or oppressed if that's what they want to do. But I don't think everyone should be boxed into a specific category, even if there was evidence that in general gender X is so and so, there's always people who fall outside of the norm.

I don't fit my gender's supposed role: I have no desire of having children or to stay at home. So how am I supposed to go through life if there's a gender role enforced? My happiness and mental health don't matter?

Love this 100%. Best wishes to you, Ma'am! :)
