Well, thus far you've called me "young", apparently in a derogatory manner, as well as ignorant.
I'm not sure how that adds to your argument.
I have a question for those of you who believe in a god or gods, and it is actually a very important question so please take some time to consider the implications before you answer.
If no God existed, would you still want to believe in one?
Apparently in a derogatory manner?
I am not sure why you choose to interpret it so if you are so proverbially thick skinned....
If you can't handle the fact that older people will have more experience than younger people on the whole, well thats your problem...not mine.
You see...just because someone says something you don't like it doesn't mean it is invalid or untrue.

Because it was; 1. an unsubstantiated claim, seeing as you do not know how old I am, and; 2. because the way you said it indicated that you think younger people are somehow dumber/less wise than those who have lived longer. This is derogatory and also a Non sequitur.

True. So I hope the above comments justify the call I made on your comment.
If you do a little word study you will find that the word "unicorn" translates to "rhinocerotis", and "dragon" to crocodile or alligator. To be fair Revelations have several passages mentioning a dragon and the King James version also has a passage in Job talking about a unicorn.
Santa and the easter bunny are taught as real to young children, but not with the thought that that belief will be carried out thru ones adulthood. God on the other hand is.But all of that is irrelevant. Dragons, faeries, trolls and other mythical creatures have been a part of the folklore of various cultures for centuries an they certainly didn't think of them as fictional.
I think the Jewish race proves that God exists. The point I am making is that there is absolutely no more reason to think that a god exists than there is to think that any other mythological creature exists.
If one does an honest and thorough search for God, he or she will not come up empty handed. And who are you to say I have not investigated?
Had you done a study your faith would not be blindOr, I am unwilling to accept something based on blind faith.
Which is always a good idea.
When the supposed scientific evidence for god arrives I'm sure someone will let me know.
I don't care how old you are JOT you just come across as a younger more naive person...you may well not be...you may be an old naive person...as you say they do exist.
Derogatory...LOL
Sue me...
Really is that so?
Fascinating....
I meet complete morons of all ages too JOT and there is no fool like an old fool...however
what you are pathologically incapable of grasping (like most things I have discussed with you so far) is that age brings experience...whatever you try to argue otherwise is simply irrelevant blather which is of course irritating.
Everything you have said on this thread so far I have almost completely disagreed with...and found a lot of it highly pompous ignorant and insulting..If I could give you negative frubals I would.
You may cry that I am being derogatory now... xxx

I would embrace a philosophy of life (like Buddhism) because I am essentially a spiritual person.
see God or no God the principle of your life matters.
i mean that you must be clear about why you are on this planet
and what for?

That's just me personally though.
Everyone should find their own purpose imo...
Why learn and teach?
Just curious.
jarofthoughts said:Well, I love learning new things so there is that.
Also, I am a teacher and I love my job.
Just seems like the proper cycle of things.
I learn things that I can then teach to my pupils, and perhaps one day they will teach others about the things they have learned, and so the cycle begins anew.
