Question to anyone... But mainly to female transgenders

We Never Know

The question.....

If you were/are a transgender female still with male parts but were/are using the female bathroom,, would it offend you if males started using that bathroom too?

I am trying to gain understanding.

Btw I think the whole transgender arguments are hypocritical being they focus 99.5% on transgender females

I am not transgender, however I doubt they would be offended with unisex bathrooms, I think what offends them is not being allowed in places where only women are allowed, because they see themselves as women.

Which transgender arguments are you talking about?

I can't answer the question.
But that made it occur to me that if women
started using men's rooms, I'd find it awkward.
The reason is that it would be unexpected.
So not being used to it is the problem.

That would only be one reason. Many women have been subjected to sexual harassment, abuse, and/or assault at some point in their lives. Traditionally, women-only spaces, like spaces exclusive to children or the elderly or disabled, not only serve their intended function but it's understood they are spaces intended to be free of stressors and threats. A person who presents male entering spaces for biological women can trigger anything from anxiety to PTSD even if the person has no ill intent. Even women without trauma can feel unease and uncertainty.

Trans women who present as women have been using women's bathrooms for decades and no one's been the wiser, they are not causing the problem. Just like it's highly probable there has been a trans man in the men's room and you never noticed. It's people who are still obviously male insisting on using women's spaces that have sparked the current discord.

I agree. But I was sure hoping a few transgenders would respond to get their insight.

No. As long as they do what they're supposed to, be respectful and clean up after themselves.... I don't care.

I should add. Sometimes people really got to go. It could be a very understandable situation.

In the post you quoted, I spoke only of myself.
Lavatories present unusual vulnerabilities.
Pants (if you swing that way) are down.
Nether regions are exposed.
So I understand wanting segregation.

My pants aren't down when I pee. Only when I go #2 and that is in a private stall.
For the record, 99.9999999999999% I don't do #2 in a public restroom

Hmm. Are these people trolls or acting in good faith? Because I kind of thought the whole idea of being a trans woman is to go out of one’s way to present as feminine. So that strikes me as troublemakers, seeking to capitalise on this recent climate. Right?

Somewhat related, but I have read a bunch of recent stories about cis women being harassed for looking too masculine due to this current bathroom debate in some American states. Unfortunately

It shouldn't surprise anyone that it was just a matter of time before perverts began using this climate to "sneak a peek".

I remember 25 years ago in my city (Seattle) it was not uncommon to see what appeared to be a lesbian going into the men's room claiming to be a man. Males presenting as female, and females presenting as males have been going into the restrooms of their choosing long before this current bathroom debate

I don’t think it’s a gender issue. I think it’s a privacy issue. If the toilets are fully enclosed, no one will know what anyone else’s genitalia looks like relative to their outward appearance. Problem solved.

I would say neither, and they're generally delusional about their ability to pass. They think they can go around with facial hair in a dress and that's womanly.

Yeah, that's been happening. I saw a video of one incidence of that. And to think that ignorant buffoons think that trans men like me should be in the women's room.

Whenever go into a public restroom, I'm really only there for one reason - and I have zero interest in what other people are doing (although I'm presuming they're there for similar reasons).

Most of the time, the problem is when it's not kept very clean, even if it's closed half the time due to cleaning. Oftentimes there are no towels or the towel dispenser is broken.
