Radical Left wing activist teacher fired in Utah school for blasting students with her views.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Man all this political correctness has really run amok.

What happened to freedom of speech, eh?
I think it has more to do with a person's ability to do the job that is being tasked to them.

Obviously this teacher can't control her emotions and focus properly enough to teach chemistry.

The subject that she is being paid to teach.

.... was being payed to teach.

....and the Pledge of Allegiance should be completely done away with in all classrooms.
Hear, hear! Talk about political indoctrination in schools....

I'd also like to do away with all the flags, anthems and military displays at sports events. What other country does that? This, as well as the school loyalty oaths, are reminiscent of 1930s Germany.

What's even more baffling, the crowd gets incensed if any of the players dares to take a political stand, by "taking the knee" or something. I mean, they make it into a political rally, then get upset if a player makes a political statement.
What's up with that?

Everything from Covid, to Trump, to climate change, to LGBT issues.

Utah teacher no longer employed after advocating vaccination and telling students she hates Trump

This is why activism needs to stay out of schools. It's a place for learning, not indoctrination.

I didn't read the link, just the OP.

Serious question, how do we draw the line between "learning" and "indoctrination"? E.g., it's really hard to do in a history class, but some would say that even STEM classes include an aspect of indoctrination.

I saw the thread title the second time.
Just seeing "radical left" made me giggle.
LOL! Today's "radical left" is farther to the right than Republicans like Reagan and Nixon were, forty or fifty years ago, yet the Republicans keep banging on about a descent into radical socialism, and seem convinced that the country has become a liberal wasteland.

Say more about that? (please)
There is nothing radical going on in the OP. Voicing opinions isn't radical. Radicalization typically involves a process, strict and rigid dogma, holding extremist positions, and is often violent.

Perhaps the Trump thing might have been a step too far. But climate change is real and an educator shouldn't lie about that. Vaccines are also effective and should be promoted. LGBT people deserve rights too and if there is an issue in the classroom that comes up they should probably speak truthfully about that as well. Depends on how they said any of the information above that might change the position as well.
