I have two cats, sisters. A grey tortie and a calico, both are kitten from my girlfriends cat, so we helped deliver them. Its really great to see them being born, and watch them grow up.

I have a 6 month old pitbull, fish, and a tarantula. the tarantula is not my idea for a pet i hate spiders but my nephew loves them and i promised him i would get him one. Of course his mom didn't want it in her house so now it stays with me. I must say it is actually pretty cool to see him make webs in the cage.
I used to have a tarantula in a glass aquarium in my 3rd grade classroom. I also had 2 little hamster type creatures. I cannot remember what they're called now, but they're desert animals, look like furry mice and have long tails with a little blop of fur at the end.

Anyway after about a month, I noticed the little furballs were acting as if they were sick....huddling in the corner, not taking care of their fur, etc. I never figured out why until I took them home over spring break and set the cages as I did in the classroom.

One evening while reading, I looked up to see the tarantula spread out across the glass side closest to the furballs cage. The little furballs were huddled in the farthest corner of their cage shivering in fear.

Talk about feeling an inch high! Every night for 6 weeks, these little guys were being terrorized! Once I put black construction paper on the ends of the aquariums they reverted back to normal.

Anyone do something so totally stupid and afterward think, "Duh!"

btw...mine never made webs. I didn't know they did that. I thought they lived in dark places.

My oldest pet is the one that looks the youngest, oddly enough. She's Francessca, or "Frannie", and is about eight or nine years of age. She and her older quasi-brother, Ray, or "Sugar Ray", were adopted when I was in my "Due South" obesession phase, so they're actually named after the fictional characters of Francessca Vecchio and Ray Kowalski. (Who were two characters that were pretending to be siblings, as well.) Like most other ferrets, she enjoys stealing things. She's also escaped from my house (and into the walls) more often than any other pet I've had. (Sugar Ray was a sweetie who could always cheer me up, and- although he has departed this world- I still sense his spirit around me.)

I've also got two cats, Sammi and Momo. (Err.... 'Momitchi' for long.)

There are some cool stories on here. Buddy buries milk bones in the house. If i give him one and he is not ready to eat it immediatly he will take off with it in the house and bury it under a book, in a stack of papers or a pile of clothes on the floor. Later on, after I have forgotten about it he will dig nose first into his "stash" and retrieve his milk bone for consumption.

The other day I shut my cats out of the bedroom so I could get some uninterupted sleep, for once. I woke later to find my bed full of cats. The door was still securely closed but I discovered a dislodged heating register on the floor, and on further investigation, another in the kitchen.

The cats had decided that if a frontal assault on the door wouldn't work they'd "tunnel" in -- through the ductwork under the floor.

I have four legs, three socks, long hair, a star to call my own, and I love to run. What am I?
A horsie? (If you had eight legs, great hair and kicked butt on a regular basis, you'd be the A Team!)

My favorite when I was little was a one-eyed bullsnake we kept in the house...and which I would put in the window behind the "curtain" so people would find it unexpectedly. He would never bite me, and only hissed at me when shedding, but other people...

My dog just hurt his knee. :( He's not allowed to play ball (his favorite thing in the world) or run for two weeks, and is on medication...:( He's so sad and depressed.

I knew a guy with a 3 legged dog. He called her Tri-pod. I thought it was very disrespectful to the dog, but the dog didn't mind. :)

My sister also shut his tail in the door when he was a kitten. Damned if I know how she managed that...it's all of an inch long.
Just so we're clear: I wasn't that sister...there is another. :p

I have a 60 pound dog named Hunter. Besides wanting to play with the ball twenty four seven, he has another favorite thing. It is called rub the belly. He will roll over on his back and if I start to rub his chest, he will take his paw and nudge my hand down towards his belly. He likes the spot where his belly button would be. Life is good when mommy rubs the belly.:)
I also have a rabbit and I take care of a family of five cats who live outside.( Oh gosh a silly thing just happened. As I typed the word outside I thought, Gee, I hope the dog didn't hear me.:biglaugh: That particular word gets him all excited.)The sweetest thing is when I take Hunter for his walk in the morning. One of the cats runs along with him, bobbing and weaving back and forth right under his face. It is a wonder she hasn't tripped him yet. The mommy cat likes to play hide and seek with him. She runs ahead and hides in the bushes, then she jumps out at him and runs to the next bush. They all make me laugh so much.

I know I've mentioned my 'friend' Jessie (bearded collie/ spaniel cross) a few times; today is 'cleaning the house day' - when I clean, I tend to wear as little as possible (I work fast and hard) -so as to keep cooler. This can sometimes be a tad embarassing when someone calls, and I have to dash upstairs and hide!!

Dear Jessie follows me around every room 'washing me' the whole time! Marie thinks she is attracted to the salt content of the sweat; I'm not so sure - I think she is genuinely ' caring' for me.:)
