I like the shield. The snake makes me think of the story where the old indian woman brought an injured rattlesnake into her home to nurse it back to health. When the snake was well, it bit the woman, and as she was dying she asked the snake why it would do such a thing, and he replied, "you knew I was a snake when you let me in."
