I feel so inadequate.

I meet none of Katzpur's qualifications for posting within this thread.

Yet, being the consistent rebel that I am, I will offer that my intial introductory manifesto remains justifiably unedited.

Like Popeye alluded, "I yam what I yam, and that's all that I yam".

Meh, I fit the criteria for re-introducing myself, so I might as well, I s'pose. Though I abhor writing about myself, I shall try my best.

The name on my birth certificate is Joanna, but everyone (including my parents) calls me Blayze. I'm 24 and I live in Montreal, Quebec, have all my life. I have the most amazing son in the entire world, Justyce, who is 7 (and is currently kicking *** in grade one, :D).

I honestly don't remember how I came to find RF, perhaps through a search engine, but regardless, I'm glad I did.

I grew up in a mixed religion household. My dad is Anglican and my mom is Alexandrian Wiccan. Growing up in said household gave me a great respect and great love for all religions and has made it a goal in my life to study and learn about as many different religions as possible. It also gave me the independence to choose and follow my own path without pullings for any side of the family. I, myself, am Kemetic/Isian Pagan.

I presently run an incredibly hectic and busy life, being a single mom, working, going to school and putting out my own music 'zine, co-owned by myself and my best friend. I work 4 days a week at a tobacco store. I go to University, majoring in Abnormal Psychology and minoring in Art History, though when I done with these, I'll be returning once again for a degree in Forensic Sciences, Forensic Anthropology, to be more specific.

The free time I have is spent going to shows and travelling a lot for the 'zine, and the odd time going out to the bar for a beer with friends, though that's rare, unless it's with a band I'm interviewing, or just hanging out with after a show.

I have an extreme passion (to the point of obsession) with music history, mainly that of 70's Punk and Rock n Roll, as well as movies, mainly horror. I have a collection of over 600 DVDs that have a room all to themselves in my house.

I'm a vegetarian, though not a vegan (just can't seem to give up cheese :D) and am an animal activist, though I'm not radical, like many assume the majority of animal activists to be.

In my short 24 years of life, I've acquired a very wild and sordid past, mainly due to my being a professional groupie for 7 years (I started when I was 14), but I'm trying to get over that now and have been for a few years. I've been (mostly) drug free for a year and a half now, though I slip every once in a while (it's hard). I still drink, but not as much as I used to.

I currently live alone with my son and our 2 dogs and 5 cats..

I really can't think of anything else to say. Feel free to ask any questions if you think I've left something out or if you want me to elaborate on anything.

Wow! Not bad for a 26-year old!
The age thing really is a disadvantage. I am surrounded by people much wiser and more knowledgable than I. It's really cool until I start correcting them. :help:

Shadow Wolf

Certified People sTabber & Business Owner
I managed to hit the criteria before February.

My name is Luke Wolf, and I am actually going through the process to have my middle name legally changed to Wolf. Some of my hobbies include paintball, hiking, being in a forest, studing religion, and wrestling of all types. My interest started with my dad watching pro-wrestling, and my brother being a high school free-style wrestler. I started out in wrestling camps, then me and my friends started doing a completly harmless mock pro-wrestling, then some of us started to back-yard wrestle (I don't recomend that. I'm addicted to it, but the pain, and barly avoided sever injuries, including a broken back, are not worth the risk.) I wrestled on the middle school team, continued back-yarding, and suddenly gave up wrestling when I was about 14, when I started to become a very devoted Christian. When I gave up Christianity, when I was 16, I hit the back-yarding again, and started training for the independant pro-leagues when I was 17. Finished that, wrestled for about a half a year, and I ended up tearing my left ACL during a match. Since it was for a local promotion, I was able to drive myself home, come up with a quick excuse to tell my mom (who is not a fan of wrestling, or me being a wrestler). I went to the doctor a couple days later, and I was told my ACL was torn, but the so-called "specialist" said I might not need surgery, and I might be able to live normally without it. I went to a training session a few days after that to see if I could keep doing the indy leagues, and I quickly found out the ACL prevents the knee from hyper-extending. I tried to go to back-yarding, were you dont have to pull of high risk moves to get a crowd going, and it still caused my knee to give. I went for months with a torn ACL, had surgery, almost a year later started to wrestle again, but only to return to a promotion going bankrupt, that ended up folding only three months after I returned. I'm saving my money up to re-train under a world known trainer, and start wrestling again.

I was born into a somewhat Christian family. I lived as a typical Christain for 14 years, grew very devoted, but it was not meant to be. Several life hardships, questions, and not being able to hold onto my faith without lying to myself cause me to lose that faith. I began studing many religions and mythology, I loved the Druids, found Wicca to be to much "alittle bit of this, and alittle bit of that," and average New-age things to be to fadish. I then found Nocturnalism, and discovered what I had felt for years was not just feelings, but there was a religion for it. I have blended in the Druid and Nocturnal religions, and I feel at peace with them.

I came across RF as part of my campaign to inform people of the truths of paganism and witchcraft. Reading many misconceptions, and knowing people believed them angered me. I have grown to like RF so much, that I just dont have to time to continue my cyber-quest. (and I doubt my e-mails were ever read, and the web-site I made had very few hits)

I’m 36, and a single mother of two (8 year old boy and 3 year old girl). I currently live in Florida, but was transplanted 12 years ago from my hometown of Norman, Oklahoma. I married right out of high school, and spent most of my adult life ‘belonging’ to someone else. It was only when I was forced into being single that I finally learned to embrace my individuality, and independence, and along the way I started strengthening my spirituality.

I have many ‘skills,’ I am a graphic artist and a skilled carpenter. I taught myself how to make websites, and published two books. I have owned business, and I waited on tables for 15 years, I have also cleaned pools (one of my favorite jobs), and worked for a short period as a process server. I really like to make very unique dream catchers, Spirit Webs, spirals, that reflect our true, multi-dimensional selves, and not the illusion of the circle we perceive life to be.

I have been blessed with the gift of healing, but I'm aware that physical pain and ailments are symptoms of spiritual problems. I am a spiritual healer. I am an ordained minister with a background in psychology, and practice the ancient healing of Reiki. I have studied many religions, and many different cultures and find wonder and amazement in all the similarities. I do not preach any specific doctrine, but instead try to share the patterns I have found in my study and search for what is Truth. I am here to inspire and remind others that we all came to fulfill our purpose of creating Heaven on Earth, of living a life we love. I combine the gifts I have been blessed with, and the formal trainings I have obtained to help others learn how to conciously co-create with me.

But all these things are what I do, not ‘who I am‘. I am a child of G*d, a spiritual being having a human experience. I've been incredibly blessed and no longer feel like I have to “work” for a living -- I do things that bring me joy, challenge me and contribute value to others, and so far, I've done OK. Nothing brings me more joy than helping others find that same excitement (and success) in their lives. I love to pass on what I've learned and help others enjoy their own brand of success and fulfillment.

The magazine I was working on last fall has been put on a back burner, for my business partner and I have decided to start El Shaddai Ministries. It will be a horse riding facility including a huge lodge. You can either rent a horse for an hour or stay for the weekend. If you like to rough it you can go on an overnight horse ride and sleep in a tent. We will be open to the public, but our main focus will be to welcome children with cancer and other terminal illness. We already have a 600 acres in Okeechobee that runs along the Kissimmee River. We already have a few horses, and have been cutting trails. As soon as our herd gets a little bigger, we will open the horse trails. Then it's to the grant writers to try to get the funding to build the lodge, and really do it up right. We will have a huge gathering room where we can hold our seminars, like a spiritual retreat. And we already have many of the children's cancer societies, and organizations very excited about bringing their kids out to see us. I will be working on a website, and will post it when I get it up and running. But anyway, that's what's been up with me. There's a lot of detail that's been left out of 'who I am', but you have a bit more now than you did before.

I smell something....
I have been waiting anxiously to post on this thread ever since it was started. Thanks Kat where ever you are. Finally the time has arrived! O.K. I am a couple of days short but close enough darn it!

Here is my original post in all its glory. Short and sweet.

turk179 said:
Hello :D I am turk. I am an eclectic solitaire Wiccan. I am sort of new to the craft(long story.) I am also new to forums. It seems to be the year of learning for me. It is so awesome to see all these religions all in one hall. I feel like a kid in a candy store:jiggy:. Love to hear from one and all.

Hey, I just realized that the last few sentences rhymed. First things first let me tell you all a little of how I have changed since my first post.

Starting off I was a little shy and not much of a debater either. But thanks to Aqualung and a few gay threads my debating skills began to improve. My religion has wavered a couple of times and I came very close to changing my religion to none. Which by the way is a perfectly suitable choice for some people. At the present time my faith is stronger than ever but I also believe that everyone should question his or her beliefs every now and then. I will give a detailed description of what I believe in a few moments. By now everyone should have fallen asleep anyways:D . When I first posted on RF I lived in a little place called Palm Bay, Fl. Not to far away from the poster above me although we never did get to meet which is too bad because she sounds really interesting. After a while I decided to move to Iowa to be with my love which is quite the change from what I am used to.

Well that’s where I am now so let me tell you a little about myself.
I am 34 years old and am about to be a daddy. I am a solitary practitioner of Wicca with an interest in the Greek pantheon. I have been a Wiccan for over seven years now but due to some unforeseen circumstances I had strayed from my path for a long time. I am back on the path now and have a deeper understanding of my faith. And this is what I believe. I believe in an all-powerful force that binds everything together. It is a natural impersonal power that determines the rules of nature. I believe that all of the Gods and Goddesses are a personal aspect of this force. I believe that this force can be bent to our will through prayer and magick. I believe in the rules of karma and the threefold law. I believe that all religion is valid. I will stop now for I fear that if I keep going I will wake you up. If you have any questions about what I believe feel free to ask me. I love questions.

So now I will tell you a little about what I like. My favorite T.V. shows are Raw, Smackdown, and NWA/TNA, which is funny because for the most part, I am a pacifist. I am also a big fan of Smallville, Lost, Fear Factor and All My Children. My musical tastes include Enya, Medwyn Goodall, Lifehouse and pretty much anything you would consider to be coffee shop music. I love anything electronic. Whether it is computers, stereos, TV’s, gaming consoles, you name it. I love nature and all living things. I hate rude and inconsiderate people. If you can’t be nice then don’t bother talking.

Well that about sums me up in a nutshell. Probably a lot more information than you were looking for. Blessed Be and happy posting.

not so much of a reintroduction but just to say I'm back, i've been blocked from my work proxy for some time and jst found I had been allowed again, I did send an emails to admin a whil ago dunno if that had anything to do with it because I never got a reply. I assume some schoolkid got on here and spammed it up and the mods blocked the IP not knowing it was an open IP used by the education department for a whole state. Anyway I am happy to be back so I can take part cos the world is etting very interesting again, not that it wasn't before.

Good idea Katz, I'm looking forward to reading this gotta go right now but I want to say good idea for starting a thread like this!

Well I think I'll give this a shot.

My name is Nikki. I'm 28 years old and was born in Bowling Green, KY. I lived in several other cities such as Russelville and Morgantown (for which I lived for 5 years). With the moving around, I attended several schools growing up and never really felt I belonged anywhere until my mom and I moved back to BG. She then got sicker and had to have triple by-pass surgery in October of '91. After that, she got a lot better on up until '98 when she passed on. We (my family) were very shocked. I'm still having trouble accepting her death.

Originally I was raised in a Catholic family for about 12 years, but when my mother retired and took ill, we stopped going. Since then I kind of accepted that I wasn't meant to be of that faith, so I moved on to study others. I've read a few passages in the bible, but it never really grabbed at me for some reason.

For a couple of years, starting in 2002, I studied Wicca and Paganism, and was generally attracted to that, but sadly I kind of lost interest until recently. Year before last, my boyfriend and I attended a Unitarian-Universalist church for about 5 months, but stopped going due to personality conflicts. I love to study other world religions, mostly the Eastern ones and still have an attraction to Paganism, and even though I no longer attend the UU church, I still consider myself Unitarian-Universalist.

Well that's all I can think of right now. I hope I didn't bore anyone! LOL

I'll give this a go too. Not sure what I wrote when I first joined and people probably know me, but here goes.

I was raised Lutheran but after a long and varied period of searching (during which time I practiced Karma Kagyu Buddhism for a couple of years) I finally found and converted to the Orthodox Church. As far as I'm aware, I'm currently the only Orthodox Christian on the forum.

I'm married (had our fifth anniversary last summer) with two children, a boy aged four and a one year old girl. We also have a cat and are picking up our new dog (we're rehoming him from a charity) on Saturday.

I live in Yorkshire and work for a software company in Leeds. I have a BSc in Psychology and used to work in a psychiatric hospital but left the mental healthcare system after disillusionment with it. My main interests would probably be reading, writing (mostly poetry but some prose) and cooking, though I don't get as much time as I'd like for ay of that with the kids. I also chant in our church choir, am learning the Byzantine notation used for our music and am on our parish council. Some of you might also have noticed that I have an abiding interest in theology and Church history.

I guess that's about it for now. I'll add other things if I think of them.

James, have you ever thought of posting some of your poetry in the poetry forum?

No, and I'm not about to consider it now either. I was once bullied into giving a public reading of one of my poems at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames and, whilst the poem itself went down well, I found the experience personally traumatic. If I can find that poem then I may put it in the poetry forum for it has already entered the public domain, but the rest will remain where it is, in a box file under my bed, never to see the light of day this side of the grave.

My name is Kevin & I have issues! :D

I'm 37 I'm married been married this past October makes 3 years! Without her I'd be dead or in a world of trouble somewhere. If she only knew!!! I worship the very ground she walks on!!!!!
My life reads like a bad comic book I wasn't raised with any set of beliefs so to speak, I looked into some of them & Wicca has so much beauty in it I looked no more..

I've never been very booksmart however I do love to read, my wife is general manager of a bookstore so she's able to check them out like at a libary! :D I never got the chance to finish HS, I do want to go back to school one day hopefully. Most of the schooling I got was from living on the streets & moving around so much.
I was almost married once when I was 20 & she dided of stomach cancer we lived in Seattle at the time, part of me still lives there.
We live in Columbia, South Carolina I'm trying to get her to go to the mountions some place like Asheville, NC!!!! I love it there!!!!!

Right now we have no kids I'm not sure that either of us can have them, my wife at one point before me had a miscarriage, so I might be the weak link here. We might adopt if we can't have them.
We have 3 cats & 2 dogs in place of kids for now.

Hmm, alright, I’ll give this a whirl…

I am twenty-seven years old. I recently (ok not really recently but it sounded good ;o ) ) gave birth to a healthy little girl in July named Sophia. Hmm, I had major complications with giving birth. She just didn’t want to come out. Was in the hospital for about a month with a variety of issues. Nearly died from this experience twice.

But I gained a insight that I wouldn’t trade for the anything. I am also a professional body piercer, and a person in love with debate. Hmm what else…I am waiting to hear “So what’s your sign..” So..I’ll just fly that out right now. I am a Taurus. And I’ve been told I am a cranky Wiccan. (I am not a morning person.. lol)

Ok, so if this isn’t enough feel free to ask.

Blessed be.

I was introduced to RF by No*s.

I don't have much to say about myself right now.

I'm an ordained Baptist minister, 26 years old. I have a BA and MA in New Testament and am working on a PhD in New Testament. I grew up in Lubbock, TX and am now in Fort Worth. I forgot to add that I am male and happily married for five years - no kids until graudation. I have a wonderful Golden Retriever and several very content fish.

I am an RF - aholic. I love to dialogue with RF'ers about dang near everything. It keeps life interesting.

My one hobby is playing guitars. I own two Martins - a 2003 D-15 and a 2001 D-18. I have been listening to very old country music lately.

Well I'm still here. I forgot to add that I've been happily married to my high school sweetheart, Mrs A_E (Leslee) for seven years.

I also have a lovable RF alter-ego Angellous.

I've been reading a lot of Greco-Roman moralists and philosophers.

I don't remember what I put in my original intro:

Buttercup first introduced me to RF.

I own a travel agency in Michigan. The economy here is in bad shape and my business is not doing remarkably well--(travel being a matter of discresionary income and there isn't alot of that in Michigan right not). I went into the business because I really love to travel--not the fancy resort kind of travel--but to try and experience different cultures. The furthest I have been in distance and experience was spending 4 months in Nepal. I am the primary care giver for an elderly parent, the oldest of 6 siblings. Moved around alot as I was growing up (9 times before I was 18)--first with the Air Force--then with a father on the promotion track with a major airline. I consider myself a Christian but am open to alot of non-traditional Christian ideas. I consider myself a seeker of knowledge and do not currently have a church affiliation. I love the forum because it brings people from around the world to a common ground for discussions about pretty much everything.

Not your average Mormon
I hope nobody is offended by this reminder, but I'm just going to repost the OP of this thread.

You've been around forever, but we've all forgotten that 2-line blurb you wrote about yourself the day you joined RF. Your posts are insightful, touching, informative, uplifting and clever. Okay, once in a while they are puzzling and annoying! Sometimes they make us wonder what kind of a person is sitting at the keyboard.

We want to know more about you -- now that we sort of think we know you. If -- and only if -- you have met any of the following criteria, you are invited to re-introduce yourself on this thread:

1. Been a member for at least 8 months and have at least 2400 posts to your credit
2. Been a member for at least 10 months and have at least 2000 posts to your credit
3. Been a member for least 12 months and have at least 1200 posts to your credit.

Please refresh our memories. Who are you and where are you from? How old are you? Are you male or female? Are you married or single? Straight or gay? Catholic, Wiccan, Jewish, Muslim or something else?

Okay, a lot of that stuff is on your profile, but a lot of other stuff isn't. What makes you happy? What makes you sad? What are your pet peeves? Do you have any hopes and dreams you'd like to share? What are your hobbies and interests? What kind of work do you do? What are your favorite movies, books, places to visit? What's your favorite food, your favorite color, your favorite time of year? Do you have kids? Pets? You get my drift...

We want to make this a fun thread where we can all get to know one another better. We also want to make posting on it a goal some of the newbies can set for themselves. Would one of our illustrious admins care to make the first post?
