:) Not to worry, Nein. You weren't the only one to make this mistake.

Thought I would never get up to the specifications to be able to post on this thread.

The names Becky; but I'm sure everyone has figure that out already. I'm a married, 21-year old college students hanging out in Rexburg, Idaho.

I've always been a member of the LDS Church by name, but not always in my heart. Born in to a family of members, I believed our common faith until high school. This is when I decided to question my beliefs and find out what I really believe. I went through everything from Anglicaism to Zorianistiom. Never found something that entireley suited me. Eventually, my questions and pondering where answered by my childhood faith.

Today: I've been married now for a little over two years and have such a love for my faith. Since I've started on this forum, my life has changed, but it a better way. I feel like I am so much more dedicated to my faith, and I have become a greenie!! :)

I hope nobody is offended by this reminder, but I'm just going to repost the OP of this thread.

You've been around forever, but we've all forgotten that 2-line blurb you wrote about yourself the day you joined RF. Your posts are insightful, touching, informative, uplifting and clever. Okay, once in a while they are puzzling and annoying! Sometimes they make us wonder what kind of a person is sitting at the keyboard.

We want to know more about you -- now that we sort of think we know you. If -- and only if -- you have met any of the following criteria, you are invited to re-introduce yourself on this thread:

1. Been a member for at least 8 months and have at least 2400 posts to your credit
2. Been a member for at least 10 months and have at least 2000 posts to your credit
3. Been a member for least 12 months and have at least 1200 posts to your credit.

Please refresh our memories. Who are you and where are you from? How old are you? Are you male or female? Are you married or single? Straight or gay? Catholic, Wiccan, Jewish, Muslim or something else?

Okay, a lot of that stuff is on your profile, but a lot of other stuff isn't. What makes you happy? What makes you sad? What are your pet peeves? Do you have any hopes and dreams you'd like to share? What are your hobbies and interests? What kind of work do you do? What are your favorite movies, books, places to visit? What's your favorite food, your favorite color, your favorite time of year? Do you have kids? Pets? You get my drift...

We want to make this a fun thread where we can all get to know one another better. We also want to make posting on it a goal some of the newbies can set for themselves. Would one of our illustrious admins care to make the first post?

I feel so...purposefully excluded in qualification to lend reply.

I've been a member of RF for 19 months, and a monetary contributor for nearly the entirety of that time. But with a mere 800+ posts (just!), no "re-introductions" are either invited or welcomed on my part?

But then, hey...I'm no fun...and don't remember the refrain to "Kumbaya"...

Hey all... as usual I'm late to post. :D

I'm from New Hampshire USA. I joined a little after the site was started.
I'm Sicilian/German/Cherokee and I try to follow the Cherokee ways as much as possible. Though I am influenced by the North Eastern Nations like the Micmack and Abnaki.

I'm a huge science/history/Anthropology fan, I'm currently trying to get back into University for Biology and from there get into Paleontology. Possibly Evolutionary Devolopment/Comparitive Zoology.

Hello. My name is you know what and I am married to you know who. You will only find me in places that will not get me into trouble like the members announcements, General discussions, Are you new to Religious Forums, Eros room, Entertainments, and any threads that have nothing to do with religion or politics. Seems like some of the old crew have left RF but I have met new people that I found friendly and welcoming.

well by now most of you will know i have a bit more to say now, i am still searching for something , what i don't know , i haven't found it in religion , i was not brought up religious and am probably too critical at times , i am deeply interested in history , i am 48 years old an ex service man and have seen action in numerous theaters, i have seen and done things which make me question god or the very existence of god , and thats what brought me to RF one day , its a great melting pot of people all of which i like in some way , i have spoken to people here about faith and hold some in great respect i wont embarrass them by name but, if you know where i can usually be found lurking around you would be surprised who they are . i was away for a while with work overseas but i am back for a while and glad to see RF is still unique. live long and prosper

I love this thread, Kat.

Here's my original intro from two years ago - http://www.religiousforums.com/forum/you-new-religiousforums-com/28419-greetings-tashe-dalek.html

And now for something completely different. LOL

Greetings, y'all. My name is Heather, 35 years old, and I'm still married to the coolest man on Earth (Steve). Both Steve and I were married once before, and we brought two kids each into this marriage. Our kids are ages 14, 12, 10, and 9 - three boys and one girl (the youngest). Our youngest daughter is being homeschooled because we are encouraging her to fully explore her gift as a graphic artist.

Our 10 year old son is a high-functioning autistic child. He struggles mainly with processing language but is extremely proficient with non-verbal communication and with his memory skills. He can literally walk out of a movie theater after seeing a film once, and recall at least a dozen lengthy dialogues verbatim.

Our 12 year old son is our charmer. He's quiet, very affectionate, and has his father's good looks. He's also a baseball enthusiast as well as an athlete, and so we're banking on him to get a job as a position player in the major leagues so he can take care of us. ;)

Our 14 year old is the academic. At the moment, he's not quite sure what he wants to do or what to major in when he's in college, but he's wanting to enlist into the armed forces after high school to serve his country before getting a degree.

All three of our sons are "A" students, too.

My husband manages production at an optical lab where eyeglasses are made. He's been in this line of work for nearly twenty years, and he could probably make a pair of glasses in his sleep. For as long as I've known him, Steve has shown little interest in religion and prefers to keep his beliefs private. Lately, though, he has expressed interest in visiting the Dharma center that I attend.

And now my own update (although I think I talk about myself incessantly here LOL). In two years I've changed from being mostly a full-time mom to a budding entrepreneur with my own dance studio in the works, regular jobs on or behind the stage in St. Louis, MO, and development in new shows with colleagues. It's amazing that once I started working with the "right" people with the "right" connections, the referrals have been nearly pouring in. All in all, business is good at the moment.

When it comes to personal care, I admit that I can be considered extremely vain. I don't feel complete unless I have my butt-length chestnut hair soft, shiny, and styled in a sexy look; unless my skin is soft, my nails buffed and shiny (I actually hate nail polish), and clothes that accentuate my figure and my cleavage. I practice astanga yoga every day, too (well, most days that is LOL).

I am also one of the biggest flirts I know. It is not uncommon for me to go out with my husband, and to flirt incessantly with our waiter, bartender, etc. It's another reason why I adamently say that Steve is the coolest guy in the world..........he's not threatened in the least, or at least he doesn't show it if he secretly is inside. I let it be known that no matter what, I come home to him. That's the truth - I don't want to be with anyone else except him.

He is also free to flirt with whomever he wants. He has, too, and he also is free to express to me if he has a crush on somebody. As a couple, we are completely and totally honest about the passing attractions we might have on others, all with the foundation that we know these attractions are always temporary, but our commitment to each other is lifelong.

I still practice Tibetan Geluk Buddhism, and I think I understand it just a smidgen better than I did when I first joined RF in '06.

The only other thing that has changed has been my status here. After becoming a mod, I find myself even more appreciative of all the members here. And when I say all, I mean ALL, no matter how popular or unpopular you are. Every day, I find myself coming here not just wanting to be a part of a community, but what I can learn how to better serve you.

When I first joined, it really felt like falling in love. After 2 years, I have found myself truly loving this community more and more deeply.

Peace,
Mystic

Hi, I'm an idiot. But so are you.

Let me explain: I believe that all human beings are completely out of their minds, and so are therefor idiots. Well ... not OUT of their minds so much as trapped inside their own minds, with only a few paltry and minimal physical sense mechanisms to bring in information to them about anything that exists outside of themselves. So naturally, when we apply our massive imaginations to this relatively small amount of actual information, we tend to create "wonderlands" that we call reality that aren't really anything like actual reality.

And if this weren't bad enough, we're very often frightened to death of our own ignorance, and so when we encounter evidence of our misrepresentation of reality we tend to DENY it instead of correcting our imaginary realities accordingly. Which of course only leads to more and more inaccuracies. And if you point out to us that we are deliberately denying reality, we will try to kill you, if need be, to shut your mouth. So we are not only crazy, we are dangerously crazy.

Welcome to the human condition.

But of course most of you have already denied and disregarded everything I've pointed out in this post, and have "erased me" from your vision of reality, as well as from your computer screens. And even if you haven't. I'm probably completely wrong about all this, anyway.

"Smile pretty, and watch your back!"

I am a mother, I have 3 children. I am married, have been since 1991. I am a Christian but I was not raised in a Christian household. My mother was agnostic and raised my sister, brother, and I as agnostics.
I love to read. I read all genres of books as long as they keep me interested.
I don't watch much TV, but I like Star Trek (TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY), MASH, and occasional other programs. I love the Science Channel.
I collect certain things-- Porcelain dolls, miniature carousel horses, a few old coins, and a few other things.
I just finished all the criteria to get an AA in accounting at my local community college with a 3.6 GPA. The last class I took was Chemistry.
I like a lot of genres of music including Rock, R&B, Country, Celtic, Classical, Gospel (both Gospel and Country Gospel), and Choral. My favorites are The Bee Gees, George Harrison, Stevie Wonder, The Statler Brothers, Patrick Ball (a Celtic harpist), Mozart, Beethoven, and too many others to name.
I used to be in the Navy, from 1986-1992 as an electrician/technician. My husband retired from the Navy. I now live in San Diego County, in Southern California. I have lived in other states, too: Colorado (7 years) Virginia (18 months) Florida (3 months.).

I hope this is not too long.

I never introduced myself as I didnt understand forums when i came here, as I was a forum virgin! But I am sure you all know this...
I am married with two girls of my own. And two step kids that one of which has austism and the other is aspergers.
My mother has terminal cancer. Care rests mostly upon me and I do not cope well with it.
I am a mature (32) student doing a theology degree.I dont understand it at all and I reliese that only really clever people should try and do it, rather than moderatly owing brain cell people like me.I do not cope well with it!
I am presently working in an italian restaurant in the evenings. i am tired.
I cant spell, or use proper grammer, and it bugs me.
I have no hobbies as i dont have time.
I am an atheist. I was brought up as a christian Pentecostal and knew no other life until i was 14, and I left the church at 16. You will never convert me.My mother still believes as does the majority of my family, but even they have given up
The nearest I come to believing in anything is buddhism, but even that has problems for me.I dont understand religion and continually seek out answers that may seem basic to yuo guys, but i dobt care and have the need to try sand understand and learn
I came here looking for help with my work. It is rare that anyone even had a basic knowledge of what i am studying particulary(anyone that does theology knows that it is a weird degree that only ever covers small fragments of a small part), with the exception of maybe Angellous and Dopp), but I have learnt so much and I like many here, so I stay.
I like this place

I wonder if I've ever officially introduced myself on RF? Hmmm....can't recall. Anyway, I've been a member of this forum for almost 4 years now, which I can hardly believe. I won't reveal my exact age, but I'm between the ages of 25 and 35. At the moment I am somewhat of a "spinster.";)

I grew up in a Christian home, but I've only been a born-again Christian for about 11 years. I actually hated God for most of my life. Most of that hatred coming from having a bit of a rough childhood. I have had rheumatoid arthritis since I was 2 years old.

I am currently working for a professional photography lab, trying to pay off debts. I love to travel, to experience different and exotic cultures, and do so every opportunity I get. My favorite country is Brazil (I feel half-Brazilian), and one day, once I am debt-free, I hope to move there. My dream is to work with some of the street kids down there-----this has been on my heart for a few years now.

I am also a lover of animals (particularly horses), the great outdoors, languages, and writing. I am an idealistic, romantic daydreamer and wanderer.

That's me. :D

Here it goes. My name is Jeremy and was born and raised in Colorado Springs. I started playing piano at 4 and picked up drumming in the second grade. My favorite bands in elementary were The Bee Gees and ELO. I was baptized in the RCC. While my mother was Catholic earlier in life, she soon became metaphysic/agnostic and my sister and I followed suit.

In junior high my passions were music, golf, wrestling, martial arts and girls. Favorite bands Pink Floyd and my girlfriend in the 8th grade was the one who influence that decision and was my first kiss. ( I was in the 9th grade) We were listening to Comfortably Numb.

In high school my passion was music and was band president and percussion instructor. I joined a drum and bugle corps called the Rocky Mountain Magic and was with that organization for 2 1/2 years. Favorite bands Yellow, Rush, Van Halen and most jazz music.

After graduating from high school, I move to Santa Clara, CA and was privileged to attend the Santa Clara Vanguard drum and bugle corps. I was in the 7.1 earth quack that hit San Fransisco. Favorite bands Police, The Blue Turtles and Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.

After returning to Colorado, i was called the United Air Force Academy to help their DnB program and later when to college and pursued a music education degree. I also began my career in cooking. This was also the time when I started reading the Bible and was baptized at 25 in The International Church of Christ. After a year I parted ways and am looking for a church that practices Christianity the way of the first century church.

I then moved to Summit County, CO for ten years where I was a children's ski school instructor and fly fishing guide and cooked at nights. Music preference Electronic music like psytrance, progressive house and break beat. I attended a few churches there and found them lacking in biblical truth.

Never-the-less, I find RF to be the closest thing to a real church than most, if not all the churches I've seen. The idea of people from all over the world sharing their beliefs is informative and offers a person to digest that information at their pace and time. I find myself spending more time think about God now that I've found RF. Thank you RF!
